Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift Spied Undisguised Ahead Of August Launch
The Mahindra Scorpio N facelift has been spied undisguised, revealing its interior and exterior changes ahead of its expected launch on the 14 of August. Mahindra has traditionally used this date to unveil a major new product each year, and the spotlight this time falls on the updated Scorpio N.
The latest spy shots of the Mahindra Scorpio N give the clearest look yet at a production-ready cabin, featuring a larger touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. Mechanical changes are expected to be minimal, with the SUV likely to continue with its current turbo-petrol and diesel engine options.
Interior spy shots show a Thar Roxx-like layout, with a 10.25-inch freestanding touchscreen paired with a 10.25-inch fully digital driver's display. This is a significant upgrade over the current Mahindra Scorpio N's smaller screen and semi-digital instrument cluster. The centre air vents have been repositioned beneath the infotainment unit.
The switchgear below the climate control panel gets a fresh, toggle-style design similar to the Thar Roxx, though Mahindra has retained physical controls for key functions. The centre console keeps a familiar layout with the gear lever, cupholders and an electronic parking brake, while dual-zone climate control continues. The Scorpio N facelift cabin retains the current model's brown-and-black dual-tone theme.
A panoramic sunroof is expected to replace the smaller unit on the outgoing Scorpio N, along with a wireless phone charger, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, a powered driver seat and ventilated front seats. Additional equipment likely includes a 360-degree camera system, upgraded audio, more connected-car features and Level 2 ADAS on the range-topping variants.
On the outside, the Scorpio N facelift spy shots reveal a fresh set of alloy wheels with a more contemporary design than the current model. The taillights remain the same LED units, while the chrome beading on the window line, silver roof rails, chrome door handle strips and black wheel-arch cladding are unchanged. Test mules have shown a revised front fascia with a grille featuring horizontal slats, dual-pod headlights and a bumper with scorpion tail-inspired fog lamp housings, and changes at the rear are expected to be minor.
Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift: Engine and Price Expectations
The Scorpio N facelift is expected to continue with its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which makes 203hp with both the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, along with 370Nm and 380Nm of torque respectively.
The 2.2-litre diesel is also likely to be carried over, producing 132hp and 300Nm on the lower variants, and 175hp with 370Nm on the manual or 400Nm on the automatic on the higher variants. A 4x4 option with a low-range transfer case is expected to continue with the diesel engine, though it remains unclear if Mahindra will revise its output for the facelift.
Prices for the current Scorpio N range from Rs 13.49 lakh to Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom), and Mahindra is expected to raise prices slightly with the Scorpio N facelift. The SUV rivals the Mahindra XUV7XO, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector in the Indian market.
