Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Unveiled: Launch By April 2027

Indian SUV specialist Mahindra has unveiled the production-ready Scorpio Lifestyler, its new lifestyle pickup truck for India. The four-door Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler pickup will be launched by April 2027, with prices starting below Rs 19.79 lakh, ex-showroom. It will also be sold internationally as the Mahindra Lifestyler, dropping the Scorpio name for those markets.

The Scorpio Lifestyler is the production version of Mahindra's Global Pik Up concept first shown in Cape Town, South Africa, in August 2023. The pickup has been designed in Mumbai and developed at Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai..

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler pickup uses a body-on-frame platform and gets a double-cab layout. Mahindra has positioned it in the midsize lifestyle pickup segment, where it will compete with models such as the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross. Mahindra has not yet revealed the Lifestyler's engine, gearbox or performance figures.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Design & Features

At the front, the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler sports high-set LED headlamps with inverted L-shaped daytime running lights and a wide grille. The front bumper features vertically positioned LED fog lamps, a large skid plate and a meshed lower air intake, while the bonnet carries prominent Scorpio lettering.

The side profile of the Scorpio Lifestyler is defined by chunky wheel-arch and door cladding, roof rails and dual-tone alloy wheels with off-road tyres. The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler gets a kinked beltline and a double-cab body, while the rear features vertically positioned LED tail-lamps, a large Mahindra wordmark and a rugged bumper design.

The cabin takes a more premium approach than the exterior suggests. It features a vertically positioned touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display and a three-spoke steering wheel. The centre console uses physical controls, while the cabin gets a brown-and-black colour scheme and dual-zone climate control.

Other confirmed equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected-car technology and terrain modes. Mahindra has not yet detailed the complete equipment list or confirmed which features will be available across the different expected variants of the Scorpio Lifestyler.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Editions And India Launch Timeline

Mahindra showcased three versions of the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup to demonstrate its different intended uses. The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Valley Edition combines the pickup's utility with a more refined appearance and sports an Artemis Grey finish, while the Reef Edition uses an Aquareef finish inspired by the ocean.

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Trail Edition takes a more adventure-focused approach and gets a Sahara Beige finish. Mahindra says the three editions represent different applications of the same pickup, covering work and leisure, outdoor use and more rugged driving environments.

The Scorpio Lifestyler will be launched in India by April 2027, with its starting price set below Rs 19.79 lakh, ex-showroom. For international markets, the pickup will be sold as the Mahindra Lifestyler and is being developed for markets including Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Mahindra says the Lifestyler has been engineered to meet different market and customer requirements.
