Mahindra Sales August 2026: 59,257 SUVs Sold, Up 50% YoY
India's SUV specialists Mahindra sold 59,257 passenger vehicles in the domestic market in August 2026, up 50% year-on-year from 39,399 units. The automaker's overall vehicle sales, spanning SUVs, light commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and exports, touched 1,07,648 units for the month.
Compared to July 2026 volumes of 60,048 units, Mahindra's SUV sales dipped 1.32% month-on-month. Year-to-date domestic passenger vehicle sales reached 2,94,050 units, a 22% increase over the 2,41,337 units sold in the same period last year, with strong SUV demand building ahead of the festive season.

Utility vehicles accounted for Mahindra's entire domestic passenger vehicle business in August, with the 59,257 units sold marking a rise of 19,858 units over August 2025. The company's SUV portfolio includes the Scorpio N, Scorpio Classic, Thar, Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO and XUV 7XO, alongside the Bolero range and an expanding electric SUV lineup.
Mahindra's commercial vehicle business also posted gains across categories. LCVs under 2 tonnes rose 37% YoY to 3,999 units, while the 2-3.5 tonne segment grew 20% to 23,416 units. Three-wheeler sales, including electric models, climbed 42% YoY to 14,922 units.

Exports were Mahindra's fastest-growing segment in August, rising 71% YoY to 6,054 units from 3,548 units a year earlier. Year-to-date exports reached 26,012 units, a 63% increase over 15,983 units in the comparable period last year.
Trucks, Buses And Tractor Sales
Mahindra's combined Trucks & Buses business, comprising Mahindra Trucks & Buses (MTBD) and SML Mahindra, recorded 2,495 units in August, a 47% YoY increase. MTBD contributed 1,320 units of this total, while SML Mahindra added 1,175 units.

Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business also grew during the month of August. Domestic tractor sales rose 5% YoY to 27,595 units from 26,201 units, while tractor exports stayed nearly flat at 1,912 units against 1,916 units a year earlier. Total tractor sales, domestic and export combined, reached 29,507 units, up 5% from 28,117 units.
Mahindra's cumulative tractor sales for the year stood at 2,21,968 units, a 16% increase over the same period last year, with domestic volumes up 17% and exports rising 9%. Mahindra attributed the growth to improving rainfall, near-normal Kharif sowing, government support measures and expectations around the upcoming festive season.
