Mahindra October 2026 Sales: Record 73,338 SUVs Sold

Indian SUV specialist Mahindra saw its sales in October reach an all-time monthly high of 1,31,109 units, including exports, a 9 percent increase year-on-year. Mahindra's domestic SUV sales also set a new record at 73,338 units.

Mahindra's trucks and buses business grew 40 percent YoY in October 2026, while three-wheeler sales rose 38 percent and auto exports climbed 77 percent. Domestic tractor sales were the only segment to decline, falling 13 percent YoY.

Mahindra October Sales: SUV Volumes Hit a New High

Mahindra's domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 73,338 units, up 2.39 percent YoY from the 71,624 units sold in October 2025, a gain of 1,714 units. Including exports, Mahindra's utility vehicle sales came to 74,904 units. Month-on-month growth was stronger. Volumes rose 14.43 percent from 64,092 units in September 2026, an addition of 9,246 units For April to October of FY2027, domestic SUV sales stand at 4,31,480 units, up about 17 percent from the 3,69,194 units sold in the same period last year.

Dr Velusamy R, President of the Automotive Business at Mahindra and Mahindra, said"October was a landmark month for us, with SUV sales topping at 73338 units and total vehicle sales of 131109, both the highest we have ever clocked in a month. The festive season, together with a refreshed portfolio, kept demand strong across SUVs, pick-ups and three-wheelers. Our first CNG vehicle, the XUV 3XO ZNG has also seen strong traction with customers."

Commercial Vehicles, Three-Wheelers and Exports

Domestic light commercial vehicle sales reached 33,037 units, up about 4 percent. The 2 to 3.5-tonne category contributed 28,654 units, up 5 percent from 27,182 units, while vehicles below two tonnes fell 4 percent to 4,383 units from 4,559 units. Three-wheelers, including electric models, grew 38 percent to 17,632 units from 12,762 units. April to October volumes reached 99,690 units, up 50 percent.

Auto exports stood at 7,102 units, up 77 percent from 4,015 units. Cumulative exports for April to October rose 53 percent to 37,133 units.

The combined trucks and buses business, covering Mahindra Truck and Bus Division and SML Mahindra, recorded 2,838 units including exports, up 40 percent YoY from the 2,034 units sold in the same period last year. Cargo vehicles rose 62 percent to 2,036 units, while passenger-carrying vehicles added 802 units, up 3 percent.

The Mahindra Truck and Bus Division registered 1,773 units, an 82 percent jump. Its cargo volumes more than doubled to 1,504 units, and passenger vehicles rose 19 percent to 269 units. SML Mahindra recorded 1,065 units, up 1 percent. Cargo sales grew 5 percent to 532 units, while passenger vehicle sales slipped 3 percent to 533 units.

Mahindra cited freight movement, infrastructure activity and festive demand as supporting factors. Combined trucks and buses volumes for April to October stand at 20,643 units, up 24 percent.

Domestic Tractor Sales Decline 13 Percent

Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business sold 62,626 tractors in the domestic market, down 13 percent from 72,071 units in October 2025. Exports rose 40 percent to 2,220 units from 1,589 units, taking total tractor sales to 64,846 units, down 12 percent from 73,660 units.

Veejay Nakra, President - Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said,"We have sold 62,626 tractors in the domestic market during October. The volume decline was primarily due to festive calendar shift, with Diwali moving to November this year from October last year. In the export markets, we have sold 2,220 tractors."

April to October domestic volumes reached 3,25,498 units, up 2 percent, while exports grew 19 percent to 13,416 units. Combined tractor volumes rose about 2 percent to 3,38,914 units.
