Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Teased Ahead Of August 15th Launch - What To Expect

Mahindra has released the first official teaser for the BE 6 Sporteq, confirming a major update for its electric SUV ahead of a reveal on August 15. The teaser shows a full-width triple-screen dashboard, validating earlier reports of the change.

The teaser carries the caption, "Teq got a Pulse. The new BE 6 Sporteq arrives on 15.08.2026," confirming the launch date. The current Mahindra BE 6 is priced between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh, ex-showroom.

In the teaser, the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq is seen finished in a matte black exterior shade, a departure from the standard SUV's regular paint options. Inside, the cabin gets a brown upholstery theme with red LED elements that highlight the Sporteq's sportier positioning.

The biggest change in the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq is the addition of a 12.3-inch passenger display, which turns the current dual-screen layout into a three-screen setup spanning the width of the dashboard. The existing Mahindra BE 6 comes with two 12.3-inch displays for the driver and infotainment system, and the new passenger screen mirrors the setup already offered on Mahindra's larger electric SUVs.

The BE 6 Sporteq is expected to carry forward the current BE 6's 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs without any changes. The single motor connected to the smaller battery variant produces 231PS and 380Nm, while the larger battery version develops 285PS and 380Nm.

Claimed MIDC range for the BE 6 stands at 548km for the 59kWh version and 683km for the 79kWh variant. Features such as multi-level regenerative braking, single-pedal drive and multiple drive modes are also expected to continue unchanged wit te new Sporteq variant.

The Mahindra BE 6 sold 541 units in July, a marked drop from its usual run rate, as the automaker appears to be winding down production of the outgoing version ahead of the Sporteq's arrival. The updated Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq will continue to rival the Tata Sierra EV and the Hyundai Creta Electric in the premium electric SUV segment.
