Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Launched at Rs 19.45 Lakh - BaaS: 11.45 Lakh

Indian SUV specialist Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Sporteq, the replacement for the BE 6 with a new battery pack option, redesigned three-screen cockpit, a suite of AI-driven software features and a Battery as a Service (BaaS) ownership option.

Prices for the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq start at Rs 11.45 lakh under BaaS and Rs 19.45 lakh for outright purchase, both ex-showroom. The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq rivals the Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG Windsor in the Indian electric SUV segment.

Alongside the standard Sporteq range, Mahindra has introduced two special editions built on the same platform, the range-topping Launch Edition and the track-inspired Formula E Freedom Edition. Deliveries of the BE 6 Sporteq begin on August 26, coinciding with Onam.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq: Price & Variants

The Sporteq range spans eight variants: ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR and Launch Edition. Three battery packs are on offer, a 59kWh unit, a newly introduced 70kWh pack that bridges the existing 59kWh and 79kWh options, and the range-topping 79kWh battery. All variants remain rear-wheel drive.

Under the BaaS scheme, buyers purchase the vehicle separately and pay a per-kilometre battery subscription of Rs 3.75/km, calculated on an assumed usage of 60km a day over an eight-year battery loan tenure. BaaS is currently limited to the ONE and TWO variants with the 59kWh pack. Prices exclude the wall charger, its installation, and statutory charges such as road tax and insurance.

The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq is offered in 12 colour options, four of them new for the Sporteq series: Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin. From the TWO variant upward, the SUV gets a three-screen coast-to-coast cockpit layout, replacing the earlier halo-style dashboard loop with a horizontal design that frees up storage space and improves access to the wireless charging pad and USB Type-C ports. The cabin also adopts a new black-and-tan theme with revised upholstery and trim.

The Launch Edition sits at the top of the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq lineup with an exclusive Graphite Storm exterior paired with a full Racing Tan leatherette interior. Every Sporteq variant carries over the BE 6's existing equipment list, including a panoramic glass roof, a Harman Kardon audio system, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, ADAS and multiple drive modes.

The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq brings a host of changes to the electric SUV's software as well. The range is built around MAIA, Mahindra's Artificial Intelligence Architecture, which powers six new TEQ suites. TEQ_Talk is built with Google Gemini and runs 17 specialised AI agents, supporting over 100 core functions and 48 apps covering vehicle controls, navigation, music and news.

TEQ_Play adds a karaoke mode and an in-car gaming suite with BYOD support, both firsts for an OEM in India, alongside Private Audio, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, GrooveMe Party and a feature called Milestone.

TEQ_Drive brings a Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode and Tribe Drive, along with Revive and Revive SOS, a function Mahindra says can generate enough energy to cover 13km to the nearest charging point after the battery hits zero percent, usable up to five times over the battery's lifetime.

TEQ_Me handles personalisation through automatic driver profile detection, while TEQ_Secure adds Secure360 Pro live monitoring with intrusion alerts, a third-screen parental lock, and an expanded NFC and Digital Car Key system spanning iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, Samsung devices and NFC key cards, a first for an Indian OEM under Car Connectivity Consortium compliance. TEQ_xting rounds off the suite with personalised tailgate messaging.

The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition is the most performance-oriented expression of the Sporteq range, retaining the original BE 6 headlamp design with tricolour accents and a two-screen cockpit built around the signature halo element.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition is offered in Satin colour finishes including the new Rosso Impulso, with a Black and Firestorm Orange cabin theme, and gets an exclusive Acceleration Boost function that cuts the 0-100kph sprint to 6.44 seconds. The edition draws on Mahindra Racing's Formula E campaign, which has delivered victories in Monaco and Tokyo this season along with a record-equalling four pole positions for Edoardo Mortara, a connection that will be reinforced when the Freedom livery is showcased alongside the SPORTEQ Freedom Edition at the London E-Prix.

All software and technology features debuting on the Sporteq series will also reach existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners through over-the-air updates, rolled out in phases starting January 2027, with the exact feature set varying by model and variant.
