Lexus TZ Unveiled As Brand's First Three-Row Electric SUV - 530km Range, 408bhp
Japanese luxury carmaker Lexus has unveiled the TZ, its first three-row, six-seat battery electric SUV. The Lexus TZ sits above the RZ in the brand's EV hierarchy and is slated for a European market launch in 2027. No India timeline has been announced.
Built on a dedicated EV platform, the Lexus TZ measures 5,100mm in length with a 3,050mm wheelbase -- 210mm longer and 200mm more in wheelbase than the existing RX. The TZ rides on 20-inch or 22-inch aero-optimised wheels, depending on the variant.

Lexus TZ - Exterior Design
The TZ carries Lexus's spindle-body design language in a more upright, angular form than the RZ. Up front, twin-L DRL units flank a closed-off illuminated grille panel, while the rear runs a full-width lamp cluster with Lexus lettering.

Flush door handles and smooth body surfacing contribute to a 0.27 drag coefficient for the Lexus TZ. Eleven exterior colours are on offer, including Sonic Tellus, a new deep khaki green using Lexus's sonic paint technology. Bi-tone roof options are also available.
Lexus TZ - Interior and Features
The TZ's three-row cabin is arranged with captain's chairs in the second row, featuring heating, ventilation, and ottoman-style leg rests. Third-row occupants get seat heating while a panoramic sunroof spans all three rows.

The Lexus TZ's dashboard centres on a 14-inch multimedia display synced to a 12.3-inch combimeter. Interior materials include forged bamboo trim sourced from Japan's Shikoku Island and bio-based UltraSuede upholstery.
A 21-speaker Mark Levinson audio system is offered with the TZ. The electric Lexus SUV's boot capacity runs from 290 litres with all rows in place to 2,017 litres with the second and third rows folded.

Lexus TZ - Battery, Performance and Charging
The TZ's 95.8kWh lithium-ion battery powers a dual-motor DIRECT4 all-wheel drive setup producing a combined 408hp. Peak torque from each eAxle is 268.6Nm. The 0-100kph sprint on the Lexus TZ takes just 5.4 seconds, with a claimed WLTP range of up to 530km. There is also a smaller 76.96kWh battery pack offering 480km of range.
On the charging side, the Lexus TZ supports 22kW AC and 150kW DC inputs. A 10-80 per cent charge via DC fast charging takes 35 minutes. The TZ offers Vehicle-to-home capability in select markets.

Lexus TZ - Safety
The TZ comes with Lexus Safety System+, covering a Pre-Collision System with intersection hazard recognition, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Map Connected Drive, and an upgraded Lane Change Assist. Dynamic Rear Steering, allowing up to four degrees of rear-wheel turn, reduces the turning radius of the Lexus TZ to just 5.4 metres, comparable to a D-segment SUV.
