Kia Syros EV Launched At Rs 13.49 Lakh - 526km Range, 15 Year Battery Warranty

South Korean carmaker Kia has launched the Syros EV in India at a starting price of Rs 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom, for the entry-level 42kWh variant. Prices for the Kia Syros EV go up to Rs 19.99 lakh for the top-spec X-Line ER trim.

The Kia Syros EV is also available with a Battery as a Service option, under which prices start at Rs 7.99 lakh, with an additional charge of Rs 3.8/km as battery rental. Deliveries of the Kia Syros are set to begin from 30 July.

The Kia Syros EV is offered with two battery options for the Indian market. The smaller of the two packs is a 42kWh battery unit that delivers a claimed range of 443km on a single charge. When connected to this battery pack the single electric motor of the Syros EV pushes out 133bhp and 255Nm of torque.

The larger 51.4kWh Extended Range pack pushes the certified range figure to 526km on a full charge.making the Syros EV the first in its segment to offer a certified range beyond 500km. This version of the Syros EV pushes out 169bhp and 255Nm, which allows for a 0-100kmph sprint time of 8.1 seconds. Fast charging for the Syros EV from 10 to 80 per cent takes 39 minutes when the electric SUV is connected to a 100kW DC fast charger.

The Kia Syros EV retains the overall shape of the ICE-powered Syros, with a closed-off Digital Tiger Face and redesigned bumpers marking it out as the version not burning dino fuel. The Syros EValso gets Ice Cube LED headlamps, Star Map lighting elements, aero-optimised alloy wheels and flush-fitting door handles. Kia is offering the Syros EV in nine exterior colours, including an exclusive Matte Graphite shade reserved for the X-Line variant.

Inside, the dashboard is dominated by Kia's 30-inch Trinity display, which combines the digital instrument cluster, infotainment touchscreen and climate control interface into a single unit. The cabin also gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Other features on the Syros EV include a Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver's seat, ambient lighting, a wireless charger and a 16-litre front trunk.

Safety equipment on the Syros EV includes six airbags and a Level 2 ADAS suite with 16 autonomous driving functions. It also gets a 360-degree camera, a blind view monitor, and front, rear and side parking sensors.

Further safety features include electronic stability control, hill start assist, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Alongside the launch, Kia has introduced a 15-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty on the high-voltage battery for the first owner. The company is also offering an assured buyback programme promising up to 80 percent resale value after three years. Buyers also get access to Kia's K-Charge network, which spans more than 20,300 charging points across India, alongside the Battery as a Service finance option.
