Kia Syros EV To Launch In August 2026 As Kia’s Most Affordable Electric SUV
Kia India is preparing to launch the all-electric Kia Syros EV in India in August 2026. Once introduced, it is expected to become the smallest and most affordable electric vehicle in Kia's Indian portfolio, making the brand's EV lineup more accessible to a wider range of buyers.
The Kia Syros has already established itself as a popular sub-4-metre SUV among urban customers thanks to its boxy proportions, tall-boy stance and practical cabin layout. The upcoming electric version is expected to retain the same overall body structure and distinctive design language as the internal combustion engine model.

Kia Syros EV Launch In August 2026
While the overall silhouette is likely to remain unchanged, the Syros EV is expected to receive several EV-specific styling updates. These may include a closed-off front grille, unique alloy wheel designs, dedicated EV badging and a charging port integrated into the front or side bodywork. The upright stance and modern design should continue to appeal to buyers looking for a compact yet spacious urban SUV.
Battery and Range
The Syros EV is expected to be offered with two battery pack options: a 42 kWh unit and a larger 49 kWh pack. Depending on the variant, the SUV could deliver a claimed driving range of up to 355 km on a single charge, making it suitable for both daily city use and occasional highway trips.

In terms of features, the Syros EV is likely to be one of the most well-equipped models in its segment. Exterior highlights may include LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, dual-tone body colours and diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Features and Safety
Inside, the cabin is expected to offer a premium experience with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery and flexible seating arrangements.

On the safety front, Kia could equip the Syros EV with six airbags as standard, Level 2 ADAS, blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree surround-view camera, parking assistance, lane-keeping assist, vehicle departure warning and a rear-view monitor.
Launch Expectations
The Kia Syros EV was initially expected to arrive in the first half of 2026, but its launch now appears to be scheduled for August 2026. Prices are likely to range between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and MG Windsor EV in the growing compact electric SUV segment.
