Kia Sorento Unofficial Bookings Open
Kia will be launching its first-ever hybrid car, the Sorento in India this month. The South Korean manufacturer has solid plans for its hybrid vehicle lineup. The Sorento will be the first hybrid vehicle for the Indian market.

According to Autocar report, the company has already started accepting unofficial bookings for this new Sorento SUV. Although Kia India hasn't made any official announcement regarding the bookings, dealerships have reportedly started accepting unofficial bookings for this model.
It will feature a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid engine, which will become the flagship ICE SUV for the brand, replacing the Kia Seltos. The unveil is expected to happen this month with the launch most likely to take place during the festive season. The UK-spec variant produces 238 hp of power and 380 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The Sorento is a premium SUV, and since it is a hybrid vehicle, it could be offered with both FWD and AWD configurations. The SUV is also expected to be available in 5-seat, 6-seat, and 7-seat configurations. If this turns out to be true, the Sorento will be the only Kia ICE-powered SUV in India to offer a three-row seating configuration.
Some of the expected features include Kia's new-generation design language, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, an upmarket cabin, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual infotainment displays, and a premium audio system with sound-integrated seats.
The Kia Sorento is nearly 5 metres long, making it a premium SUV that could rival models like the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and the Honda ZR-V Hybrid. The pricing of the Kia Sorento is expected to start at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
