Kia Carens Crosses 3 Lakh Sales In India, Family MPV Continues Winning Buyers
Kia has announced that the Carens MPV has crossed 3 lakh unit sales in the Indian market. The model was introduced in 2022 as an affordable MPV and soon became one of the best-selling MPVs. Most families in India prefer MPVs as they offer maximum space, practicality, and the convenience of carrying more passengers.
The Kia Carens is one such MPV that was targeted at families on a tight budget looking for a 7-seater vehicle. The Kia Carens is available in petrol, diesel, and electric versions. Kia has also expanded the lineup with the new Carens Clavis and the Carens Clavis EV, offering buyers more variety.
Kia Carens Sales Milestone in India

The model has now achieved cumulative sales of 3 lakh units in four years since its launch in the country. It remains one of the brand's most popular models, offering best-in-class powertrains, safety equipment, connectivity, and technology.
The Carens Clavis is a more premium offering from the brand, and there is also an electric version called the Carens Clavis EV. The maximum sales came from the petrol version, while the diesel model accounted for 30% of the sales, with the remaining 10% coming from the EV.
Powertrain Specs
The Carens ICE version is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine. The petrol powertrain produces 84 kW of power and 253 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 84.4 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque.
There is also a more powerful 1.5-litre T-GDi petrol engine that produces 117.5 kW of power and 253 Nm of torque. All these models are available with both manual and automatic transmission options, offering buyers greater convenience.

The Carens EV comes with a 51.4 kWh battery pack which delivers a maximum claimed range of 490 Km. Some of its key highlights include dual infotainment screens, ambient lighting, a dashcam, a smart air purifier, roof-mounted AC vents, Level 2 ADAS, paddle shifters, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Pricing
The regular Kia Carens is priced at Rs 11.01 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Carens Clavis is priced slightly higher at Rs 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The Carens Clavis EV starts at Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom), while under the BaaS scheme, it is available at a starting price of Rs 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
