Kia Carens CNG, Carens Clavis CNG And Carnival Hybrid Bookings Now Open
Kia has opened pre-bookings for the Carens CNG, Carens Clavis CNG and Carnival Limousine Hybrid in India, adding two factory-fitted CNG variants and a hybrid flagship to its MPV lineup. All three can now be booked at Kia dealerships across the country.
Kia has not announced prices for any of the three models yet, with ex-showroom figures expected to follow at a later date. All three vehicles were showcased earlier at Kia's Inspiration Day event, where most of their specifications and features were first revealed alongside the launch of the Sorento.

Kia Carens CNG And Carens Clavis CNG: Engine & CNG Hardware
The Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG use the G1.5 engine, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Both models get a factory-fitted 60-litre CNG tank rather than an aftermarket kit fitted at a dealership or workshop.
Fitting the CNG system at the factory has let Kia recalibrate the engine and retune the suspension specifically for CNG use. Both models also gain 16-inch wheels and 16-inch disc brakes as part of the CNG package.
A dedicated CNG Fuel Change Switch lets drivers toggle between petrol and CNG on the move. A 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument cluster displays CNG distance-to-empty readouts, and the third-row seat-back frame has been redesigned to improve recline angle and rear comfort.
Carens CNG And Carens Clavis CNG Variants
Kia is offering separate variants for private buyers and commercial or fleet operators across both CNG models.
| Model | Private Buyer Variant | B2B / Commercial Variant |
|---|---|---|
| Carens CNG | Premium (O) G1.5 6MT | M-Drive G1.5 6MT |
| Carens Clavis CNG | HTE and HTE (O) G1.5 6MT | HTM G1.5 6MT |
| Carnival Limousine Hybrid | Limousine+ G1.6T HEV 6AT | Not offered |
The commercial-focused M-Drive and HTM trims target fleet and taxi operators, while the private variants add more comfort and convenience equipment.
Kia Carnival Limousine Hybrid: Powertrain & Features
The Carnival Limousine Hybrid uses a G1.6T HEV powertrain paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, offered solely in the Limousine+ trim. The setup pairs a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine making 180hp and 265Nm with an electric motor producing 73.4hp and 304Nm, and does not need external charging.
The electric motor assists the engine under load and can power the MPV at low speeds on its own, improving overall efficiency. Kia has fitted the Carnival Hybrid with 18-inch Crystal Cut dual-tone aero alloy wheels and Active Air Flaps for better aerodynamics.
A Virtual Engine Sound System generates an audible warning when the vehicle is running silently on electric power at low speeds. Inside, it gets a Smart Pure Air Purifier with an AQI display and retractable, height-adjustable seat-back tables with wireless charging.
Other cabin additions include monotone ambient lighting, dedicated cup holders and leatherette-wrapped door trims. Kia has not disclosed CNG mileage, hybrid fuel efficiency or complete on-road pricing for any of the three models, with these details expected closer to launch.
