What is BaaS Scheme?

The Battery as a Service or BaaS scheme significantly reduces the upfront cost of purchasing an electric vehicle. Under this model, customers can buy the vehicle without paying for the battery pack as part of the initial purchase price. Instead, separate financing arrangements are created for the chassis and the battery.

The chassis loan is processed like a regular vehicle loan, while the battery usage is charged at Rs 3.30 per kilometre. The chassis loan tenure can extend up to five years or 60 months, while the battery rental agreement can continue for as long as eight years or 96 months. This flexible ownership model makes electric mobility more accessible by lowering the initial investment.

Battery and Powertrain

The Carens Clavis EV was recently introduced with new alloy wheels, updated variants and a refreshed bumper design. The electric MPV continues to be offered with two battery pack options: a 42 kWh standard-range battery and a larger 51.4 kWh extended-range battery.

Additional highlights include a spacious seven-seat cabin, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging capability, Level 2 ADAS with 20 autonomous safety features, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, Ice Cube LED headlamps, connected LED tail lamps and 17-inch diamond-cut aero alloy wheels.
