JSW MG Motor India has unveiled the ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform), India's first multi-NEV platform that supports pure EVs, strong hybrids, range-extender EVs, and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

The pure EV option offers customers a lower cost of ownership, dependable charging infrastructure, and a greener mobility solution. The plug-in hybrid is designed to deliver maximum efficiency while reducing concerns about range limitations. The strong hybrid provides an ideal transition from traditional ICE vehicles to EVs by combining a familiar driving experience with improved efficiency and ownership benefits.

The platform features a dedicated hybrid engine, an advanced battery system, India's first 10-in-1 intelligent electric drive unit, and the world's first electromagnetic dedicated hybrid transmission. All these systems are managed by an intelligent energy management system that maximises efficiency, performance, and driving comfort.

Intelligent Energy Management

The battery and electric motor deliver instant response, high efficiency, and enhanced safety. MG claims that the battery system has undergone rigorous safety testing under extreme conditions to ensure maximum protection against fire and improve passenger safety. The dedicated hybrid engine has also been developed to deliver higher thermal efficiency and lower fuel consumption.

The intelligent energy management system automatically analyses driving conditions and switches between four dedicated drive modes.

Range-Extender Technology

In the range-extender electric vehicle setup, the electric motor always powers the vehicle, while the petrol engine functions solely as a generator to recharge the battery.
