New Hyundai Venue Gets 5-Star Safety Rating – Here’s How It Performed

The new Hyundai Venue has scored a 5-star rating in the recent Bharat NCAP crash test. The Venue also becomes one of the latest cars to be tested under BNCAP, following the more premium Hyundai Tucson. Hyundai sells both Venue and Venue N Line in India, with the latter featuring a sporty theme and a powerful turbo engine.

Hyundai Venue SUV BNCAP Crash Test Score

South Korean automaker Hyundai has crash tested its Venue sub-4m SUV under BNCAP. The Venue is one of the best-selling cars in its segment, known for its advanced features and upmarket design. The vehicle has scored 31.15 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection and 44.46 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection.

The standard Venue SUV comes equipped with 6 airbags, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Start Assist, 3-point seatbelts, rear parking sensors, traction control (Sand, Mud, Snow), and ISOFIX child seat anchor points. Some other highlights include automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, and front and rear parking sensors with a rollover sensor.

The SUV is available with 1.2L MPI petrol, 1.0L Turbo GDI petrol, and a 1.5L CRDi diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The variants tested under BNCAP are the HX2 and HX4 trims.

The Hyundai Venue also gets several premium features such as a dual-tone interior, coffee table-inspired centre console, dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays, dark chrome grille, rear Horizon LED tail lamps, bridge-type roof rails, Terrazzo-textured crash pad finish, an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, all-wheel disc brakes, paddle shifters, and a D-cut steering wheel.

The Hyundai Venue is priced from ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec variant goes up to ₹15.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Its key rivals include the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Skoda Kylaq, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
