Hyundai Posts Record January 2026 Sales As Venue & Aura Gains Massive Growth

One of India's leading auto manufacturers, Hyundai Motor, recorded a strong sales performance in January 2026. Domestic sales reached 59,107 units last month, representing a 9.5% increase year-on-year. An additional 14,030 units were sold as exports, marking a 20.9% growth compared to 2024.

Hyundai sold a total of 73,137 units, in both domestic and export sales, marking an 11.5% year-on-year increase. The surprise, however, was the strong sales growth of the Venue facelift sub-4-metre SUV and the Hyundai Aura.

The Hyundai Venue facelift was launched in November 2025, having advanced technology, refreshed exterior styling, and a more upmarket cabin. The Venue sold 12,413 units in January, while the Aura compact sedan posted 7,978 unit sales. This also marks the highest-ever monthly sales figures for both models.

The Aura is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and competes with cars such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The Venue facelift competes in the most competitive sub-4 meter SUV segment against big rivals such as Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq.

Commenting on this record performance, Hyundai Motor India Limited MD & CEO Tarun Garg said, "January 2026 marks a defining chapter in Hyundai Motor India's journey. Achieving our highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 59,107 units, alongside highest-ever total sales of 73,137 units with a strong 11.5% year-on-year growth, reflects not only Hyundai's brand leadership but also the collective strength of our people, partners, and customers."

He added, "The remarkable 20.9% growth in exports to 14,030 units underscores the trust the Hyundai brand continues to inspire across global markets. As we look ahead in the year, we will continue to lead with purpose, creating enduring value for our customers, empowering our stakeholders, and shaping the future of mobility in India."

Hyundai was the second-largest automaker in India, after Maruti Suzuki. However, last year it slipped to fourth place, overtaken by Indian brands such as Mahindra and Tata Motors. The South Korean automaker is now aiming to reclaim its position, and with these strong sales figures, it has taken an early advantage over its rivals in 2026.
