Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift India Launch Set For May — What We Know So Far
South Korean carmaker Hyundai is preparing to launch the Ioniq 5 facelift in India in early May 2026. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift arrives about a year after its global debut, bringing a bigger battery, revised exterior details, and a reworked interior.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift - Battery and Powertrain
The existing 72.6 kWh pack of the pre-facelift model makes way for an 84 kWh battery, with support for 350 kW DC fast charging - enabling a 10-80% charge in 18 minutes when connected to a compatible charger.

The RWD variant of the Ioniq 5 Facelift based on this larger pack claims 570 km under the WLTP cycle. The current India-spec Ioniq 5 produces 215bhp and 350 Nm in rear-wheel-drive form and this is not expected to change.
The Ioniq 5 is also offered in an AWD variant overseas. Paired with the same 84 kWh battery the dual-motor setup produces 321 bhp and 605 Nm - the same configuration as the Kia EV6 GT.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift - Exterior Design Changes
Design changes to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 are modest. The front end gets a mild revision, the rear bumper is reworked with two integrated fog lights, and the alloys adopt a new dual-tone finish. The front air intake is wider, with a V-shaped garnish, and the rear spoiler is extended by 50 mm for improved aerodynamic efficiency.
Overall length grows by 20 mm to 4,655 mm. The Ioniq 5 facelift remains 40 mm shorter than the Kia EV6 at 4,695 mm. Other dimensions are unchanged.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift - Interior and Features
There are more significant changes to the interior of the Ioniq 5. Physical buttons return to the centre console, replacing touch-based controls for functions like parking assist, heated steering wheel, and ventilated seats. The wireless charging pad moves to the upper section of the console for easier access.
The cabin also switches from a beige colour scheme to black and grey for the Indian market. The dual 12.3-inch setup - instrument cluster and infotainment - carries over, now with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay built into the system rather than requiring an adapter.
Additional equipment includes a 2nd-gen built-in dashcam, Digital Key 2, second-row remote seat folding, an intelligent front lighting system, and a Hands-On Detection steering wheel with updated Lane Keeping Assist.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift - Price and Rivals
Pricing is expected to remain close to the current car's range, with the facelift continuing as a single fully loaded variant. Estimates put it between ₹45 lakh and ₹50 lakh ex-showroom, with a tentative launch in May 2026. At that price, it takes on the BYD Sealion 6 and premium ICE SUVs from Volkswagen and Skoda.
