Hyundai Exter Facelift Expected In 2026: Here's What We Expect
Hyundai is planning to launch an updated (facelifted) version of the Exter micro SUV in India in the first half of 2026. The facelift is expected to introduce a few design updates along with refreshed interior and cabin features. This will be the first major update for the Exter since its debut in 2023.
Hyundai Exter Facelift Expectations
New Design Elements
The Hyundai Exter is known for its compact yet aggressive design language. The upcoming facelift is likely to retain the signature DRLs, headlamps, and tail-lamps. The visual updates are expected to be new alloy wheel designs, revised bumpers, and an updated grille. Even in its current form, the Exter offers strong value in the micro-SUV segment.

Updated Interiors and Cabin
The most noticeable updates are expected inside the cabin. The facelifted Exter could receive a more premium dashboard layout and improved interior materials compared to the current model.
Hyundai is also expected to introduce its dual-screen infotainment and instrument cluster setup, which has already been seen on other models in the brand's lineup. The updated upholstery and trim elements could further enhance the overall cabin experience.

New Colour Options
At present, the Exter is available in colours such as Ranger Khaki (with and without Abyss Black dual-tone roof), Starry Night, Atlas White, Titan Grey, Titan Grey Matte, and Abyss Black. A few new shades or dual-tone combinations could be added with the facelift.
Same Powertrain Expected
Mechanically, the facelifted Exter is likely to retain the existing 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine and CNG options, which offer consistent performance and efficiency. Transmission options are expected to remain the same, with 5-speed manual and AMT. The CNG variant currently offers both single- and dual-cylinder configurations, and this setup is likely to be carried over.

However, its biggest competitor, the Tata Punch, is now offering a more powerful turbo-petrol option. Hyundai could consider introducing its 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine in the Exter lineup, but this remains purely speculative.
Pricing Expectations
The current Hyundai Exter is priced from ₹5.73 lakh (ex-showroom). With the facelift, prices are expected to increase, starting at around ₹5.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated Exter will continue to compete with models such as the Tata Punch (facelift), Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Citroen C3.
