Honda ZR-V Hybrid India Launch On May 22: 5 Things We Expect From Honda’s New Premium SUV
Honda Cars is all set to launch the Honda ZR-V Hybrid in India on May 22, 2026. This will be the company's first all-new SUV launch in the Indian market since the introduction of the Honda Elevate in 2023.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid: Things we expect
The ZR-V Hybrid will be positioned in the premium SUV segment and is expected to offer class-leading fuel efficiency, advanced features and a sophisticated hybrid powertrain. Here is a closer look at what buyers can expect from Honda's upcoming electrified SUV.
1. Strong Hybrid Setup

Honda has already teased the ZR-V on its official social media channels with e:HEV branding, confirming that the SUV will arrive with the company's advanced strong hybrid technology. The new model is also expected to be offered with all-wheel-drive capability in select international markets.
Based on the global-spec model, the Honda ZR-V is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a two-motor hybrid system. This setup can automatically switch between three drive modes - EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive - depending on driving conditions to deliver an optimal balance of performance and efficiency.
2. Class-Leading Fuel Efficiency
Hybrid vehicles are widely known for their excellent fuel economy, and the international-spec Honda ZR-V e:HEV claims an impressive fuel efficiency of up to 22.1 km/l. In addition to reducing fuel consumption, the hybrid system is designed to significantly lower tailpipe emissions, making the SUV a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional petrol-powered vehicles.
3. Top-Notch Interiors

The Honda ZR-V features one of the most advanced and premium cabins in Honda's global portfolio. It offers a spacious interior with high levels of comfort for both front and rear passengers.
International versions of the SUV are available with multiple interior colour themes, all of which enhance the upmarket appeal of the cabin. The dashboard and door panels incorporate soft-touch materials, while premium leatherette seats add a luxurious feel. The centre console features neatly integrated climate controls, smart rotary dials and a clean, modern layout that gives the interior a near-luxury ambience.
4. Tech-Loaded Cabin

The ZR-V is equipped with a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Honda Connect. It also supports built-in Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play, enabling a seamless connected-car experience.
Other notable features include a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, wireless smartphone charging, USB Type-C charging ports, fully automatic climate control, dual-zone temperature control, heated steering wheel, powered tailgate, Honda Smart Key and a practical centre-console undertray.
5. Superior Safety

Safety is expected to be one of the strongest highlights of the Honda ZR-V Hybrid. The SUV will feature Honda Sensing, the brand's Level 2 ADAS suite, offering a comprehensive range of advanced driver assistance technologies.
These are expected to include a surround-view camera, collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, blind spot monitoring, parking assist, automatic high beam, LED cornering lights, a multi-view camera system, multiple airbags and Honda's advanced high-strength body structure.
