Honda Planning Comeback in India – New City Facelift & Premium SUV In 2026
Honda Cars India is expected to launch the new City facelift and a new premium SUV in India this year. The Japanese automaker has faced tough competition in recent years and is now planning an aggressive product push.
The brand is aiming to regain its market share starting from 2026. It aims to introduce up to 10 new models by 2030, including an all-new 'O' Alpha EV that is currently under testing.
Honda City Facelift

The first model to arrive is expected to be the facelifted Honda City, now in its fifth generation. One of the most iconic sedans in India, the City has recently faced stiff competition from rivals like the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna.
To stay competitive, Honda is expected to introduce several updates. Exterior changes may include revised LED headlamps, a new grille, updated LED tail lamps, refreshed bumpers, and new alloy wheels.

Inside, the sedan is likely to receive updated upholstery, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, and a new 360-degree camera system. The City already offers Honda Sensing ADAS, even in the lower V trim, which remains a key highlight.
Mechanically, the car is expected to retain its existing powertrains, including the 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine and the 1.5L strong hybrid setup. Pricing is likely to see a slight increase over the current starting price of ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Honda ZR-V SUV

The Honda ZR-V is a premium hybrid SUV that is expected to enter the Indian market as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Being a global model, it is likely to retain its international specifications. The ZR-V is likely to be positioned as a premium offering, with expected pricing in the range of ₹40-50 lakh (ex-showroom).
It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder hybrid petrol engine paired with an e-CVT gearbox, delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of around 22 km/l. Key highlights are expected to include a floating touchscreen infotainment system with Honda Connect, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a bold front grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, multiple driving modes, and real-time AWD capability.
