Honda Cars India is finally set to launch the facelifted Honda City on May 22, 2026. Alongside the updated sedan, the company will also introduce the Honda ZR-V Hybrid to the Indian market through the CBU route.

Both these upcoming Honda models are expected to suit Indian buyers well, especially as they focus strongly on hybrid technology and fuel efficiency. Here are the launch expectations for the upcoming Honda City Facelift and Honda ZR-V Hybrid.

Honda City Facelift Launch Expectations

Honda City Facelift

Firstly, the iconic Honda City sedan is set to receive a comprehensive facelift featuring upgraded exterior styling and refreshed interiors. The biggest changes are expected at the front, where the sedan could get Honda's latest logo, a slimmer grille, redesigned LED headlamps with updated DRLs and newly styled bumpers.

The interior is also expected to receive several upgrades, including a new floating touchscreen infotainment system. Expected features include a 360-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, electric sunroof, 8-speaker sound system and ambient lighting.

Other safety and convenience features such as camera-based Honda Sensing ADAS, six airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, TPMS and hill-start assist are likely to be retained in the facelift version.

The powertrain is expected to remain unchanged. The facelifted City will likely continue with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine producing 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT gearbox. The Honda City e:HEV variant is also expected to receive similar design updates without major mechanical changes.

Honda ZR-V Hybrid Expectations

Honda City Facelift

The Honda ZR-V will be imported to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, meaning most of its international specifications and features are expected to remain unchanged.

The SUV features sleek LED headlamps, a slim grille, vertical air vents and a large lower air dam. Its overall design language remains clean and sophisticated without excessive aggressive styling elements. To add a sporty touch, Honda has equipped the SUV with a dual-exhaust setup.

Inside, the ZR-V gets a minimalist cabin layout with a fully digital instrument cluster and a floating infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

For safety, the ZR-V is expected to offer 11 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, four-wheel disc brakes, hill-hold assist and front and rear parking sensors.

The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a strong hybrid system. This setup produces 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque and is paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The powertrain is expected to deliver strong fuel efficiency while maintaining impressive performance.

The outgoing Honda City is currently priced from ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the facelift version is expected to be priced around ₹12.5 lakh to ₹13 lakh (ex-showroom). The Honda ZR-V, being a premium hybrid SUV, is expected to be priced around ₹40 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival models such as the Škoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron R-Line
