Honda City Facelift Teased Ahead Of May 22 Launch - What To Expect

Japanese carmaker Honda has officially teased the City facelift ahead of its India debut on Friday (May 22). The teaser image for the Honda City facelift posted on the firm's instagram reveals a slim LED headlight with connecting light bars.

The updated Honda City has spied in recent days arriving at dealerships and these have already previewed the updated sedan in greater detail. So let's take a look at what we can expect from the 2026 Honda City facelift...

Honda City Facelift - Fresh Face & New Wheels

The Honda City facelift arrives with redesigned LED headlamps featuring integrated DRLs at the upper section of the housing. A connected lighting element runs across the grille, lending a more premium and modern appearance to the front ofthe city. The grille itself appears sharper than the outgoing model.

The front bumper receives a completely fresh layout with a sportier character. Notably, the test mule spotted in spy images did not feature fog lamps. The rear gets a revised bumper with cleaner styling, the older C-shaped detailing removed, and a more pronounced integrated spoiler on the boot lid.

The Honda City facelift retains the same side silhouette as the current model. New black-finished alloy wheels add a sportier touch to the overall stance, with wheel size expected to remain at 16 inches.

Honda City Facelift - Cabin And Technology

Inside, the Honda City facelift is expected to feature a larger infotainment touchscreen, replacing the current 8-inch unit. Spy images suggest a more upright display layout as part of a refreshed dashboard design.

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity are also anticipated. The cabin is expected to continue with the familiar black-and-beige theme, beige seat upholstery, ambient lighting, and the same steering wheel design.

Honda City Facelift - Powertrain Carried Over

The Honda City facelift is expected to soldier on with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine that pushes out 119bhp and 145Nm of peak torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The Honda City is also available in e:HEV strong hybrid guise. This version ofthe City sedan features a 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle petrol engine paired with two electric motors. This hybrid setup pushes out 125bhp and 253Nm of peak torque and is paired with an e-CVT automatic transmission.
