Honda 0 Alpha EV Spied Testing In Manali With Large Touchscreen Setup
Japanese carmaker Honda is stepping up real-world testing of its upcoming electric SUV based on the 0 Alpha concept. After pan-India validation runs began earlier this year, a camouflaged prototype has now been spotted in Manali, giving the clearest look yet at its cabin.
The latest spy video, courtesy an instagram reel by @pxrtth.gpt show the Honda 0 Alpha prototype testing in Manali with a large landscape-oriented touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster dominating its dashboard.
The sighting suggests Honda is leaning toward a tech-heavy interior layout for the SUV, distinct from its current India lineup. Exterior styling, meanwhile, continues to draw from the 0 Series design language shown globally.
Honda 0 Alpha Spied - Bigger Screens Confirmed

The dashboard gets a wide, freestanding touchscreen at the centre, paired with a separate digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. The display is noticeably larger than units on Honda's current India range and is expected to support wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car features, navigation and EV-specific functions. Physical climate control buttons are likely to remain.
The steering wheel shows a new design with multi-function controls, while the dashboard layout looks minimalist, in keeping with the Honda 0 Series philosophy.

Honda 0 Alpha Spied - Exterior Styling Stays Concept-Inspired
The prototype is still wrapped in heavy camouflage with geometric graphics, though the underlying shape is visible. Up front, it keeps the upright stance, squared-off proportions and signature lighting layout seen on earlier test mules. Rectangular LED units are linked by a slim black panel at the front, while the rear gets vertically stacked tail lamps and a clean tailgate.
A tall roofline, generous glass area and boxy silhouette point to a focus on cabin space along with aerodynamic efficiency. The alloy wheels stay hidden under camouflage covers, meaning the production design has not been revealed yet.

Honda's EV Plans - India Set For A Key Role
Honda has confirmed the electric SUV will be built in India for both domestic sale and export. It is an important part of Honda's EV strategy even as the company restructures its global EV plans. The SUV is set to launch in 2027 and will compete in the premium midsize electric SUV segment, going up against rivals like the Creta EV and the upcoming Sierra EV.
Honda's global CEO Toshihiro Mibe had recently named India a priority market alongside North America and Japan. The company has already launched the new City in 2026 and showcased the ZR-V hybrid SUV, which is due for launch in the coming weeks. Two more India-focused SUVs are planned from 2028, a sub-4 metre model and a midsize one. The company plans 10 new car launches in India by 2030.
