Fourth-Gen Hyundai i20 Leaked In Full Ahead Of FIFA World Cup Debut
The fourth-generation Hyundai i20 has been leaked in full by thekoreancarblog, ahead of its official world debut at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Hyundai is an official partner. The new-gen hatchback debuts an all-new crossover-inspired design and a Venue-like dual connected screen layout inside.
No official technical specifications have been announced alongside the leaked images. The fourth-gen model marks a significant visual departure from all previous i20 generations, which were characterised by a distinctly swoopy hatchback stance.

Hyundai i20 (Gen 4) - Exterior Design
The new i20 replaces the swoopy proportions of its predecessors with a more upright, almost boxy silhouette when viewed head-on. Generous plastic cladding on the bumpers and wheel arches reinforces the crossover aesthetic, a trend borrowed from the SUV segment.

Connected LED light bars appear at both the front and rear. The headlamps are broad, chunky units with Y-shaped LED DRLs, while the tail-lamps feature a triangular housing with C-shaped lighting elements. A distinctive kink in the window line gives the profile a character closer to Kia than Hyundai.
Body panel surfacing is clean and uncluttered, a clear step away from the edgy character lines on the third-gen i20. Dual-tone alloy wheels feature on the leaked unit, and conventional pull-type door handles are retained over flush-fitting ones.

Hyundai i20 (Gen 4) - Interior and Features
The cabin gets twin connected screens, likely 12.3-inch units each, matching the dual-screen layout seen on recent Hyundai and Kia models including the Venue. A new three-spoke steering wheel carries the 'H' logo rendered in Morse code, paired with a vertically oriented centre console.

Physical buttons and rotary dials are retained on the steering wheel, on the panel below the touchscreen, and on the centre console. The interior wears a beige and grey dual-tone colour scheme, with soft-touch materials visible on the door pads.
Hyundai i20 (Gen 4) - Engine and Gearbox

No powertrain specifications have been officially confirmed. The fourth-gen i20 is expected to carry over the 83hp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 120hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines from the outgoing model. A 'TGDi' badge visible on the tailgate of the leaked unit confirms turbo-petrol engine availability in the line-up.
Hyundai is also developing a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, reported to have been built with hybridisation in mind. This unit could feature in the fourth-gen i20, though no confirmation has been provided. There's no word yet on whether the hatchback will come to India, where Hyundai is focused on launching a new Bayon-based crossover towards the end of 2026.
