Dakar 2026 Stage 13 Results: Canet & Ekstrom Win - Benavides Pulls Off Miracle & Al-Attiyah Claims 6th Win
The 13th and final stage of Dakar 2026 saw KTM's Edgar Canet win in the bikes category while Ford's Mattias Ekstrom took the stage win in the cars category.
In the overall standings, KTM's Luciano Benavides pulled off a miracle to take the overall win in the bikes category after Ricky Brabec made a navigational error, while Dacia's Nasser Al-Attiyah cruised to a sixth overall win at the world's toughest rally raid.

Dakar 2026 Stage 13 Results: Bikes - Luciano Benavides Pulls Off A Miracle To Win By Just 2 Seconds

KTM's Edgar Canet took the stage win on the final stage of Dakar 2026. The 20-year-old Spanish sensation blasted through the 105km special stage in just 49 minutes and three seconds.
The second step of the podium was claimed by KTM's Luciano Benavides, who finished just six seconds behind his 20-year-old teammate. His blistering pace today ensured that the rider from Argentina took advantage of Brabec's mistake (the American finished in 10th place on the stage) to claim the overall win, three years after his brother did something similar to win Dakar 2023.
Honda's Tosha Schareina took the final podium place on offer on today's stage as he ended the day 47 seconds behind his countryman. Schareina's ride today also helped him claim third in the overall standings.
South African rider, Michael Docherty, was the fastest Rally 2 rider today as he took 4th place on the final stage of Dakar 2026. Docherty was 50 seconds adrift of Canet. Fifth place on today's stage was taken by Honda's Adrien Van Beveren. The French rider ended the special stage one minute and 15 seconds behind the KTM of Canet.
Chilean rider Nacho Cornejo was the fastest of the two Hero riders today as he ended the special stage in 8th place, three minutes and 11 seconds behind Canet. Ross Branch finished the 13th stage in 12th place. Branch ended the stage, four minutes and 26 seconds off the pace set by Canet today.

In the overall rankings, KTM's Luciano Benavides took his first-ever win at the Dakar. The rider from Argentina became the second Benavides brother to win the Dakar (his brother won the Dakar in 2021 and 2023), ending the rally with a time of 49 hours and 41 seconds after 13 rounds in the Saudi Arabian desert.
Honda's Ricky Brabec ended Dakar 2026 in second place, just two seconds behind the KTM of Benavides. The American rider had started the day with a three-minute and 20-second lead over Benavides but made a navigational error at the end of the stage, which cost him the overall win at this year's Dakar.
Honda's Spanish rider, Tosha Schareina, took the final podium spot in the bikes category. After 13 rounds of Dakar 2026, Schareina ended the rally 25 minutes and 12 seconds behind Benavides.
Honda's Skyler Howes took fourth place in the overall rankings at the end of Dakar 2026. The American rider ended Dakar 2026 56 minutes and 41 seconds behind the KTM's Benavides. 2025 champion, Australia's Daniel Sanders, took fifth place, despite suffering a major crash on Stage 10. The Australian KTM rider ended Dakar 2026 one hour, three minutes and 15 seconds behind Luciano Benavides.
Igancio "Nacho" Cornejo was the highest-ranked Hero rider at the end of Dakar 2026. The Chilean rider ended the rally one hour, 39 minutes and 50 seconds behind Benavides. Ross Branch took the 8th spot at the end of Dakar 2026, ending the world's toughest rally-raid two hours, 49 minutes and 15 seconds behind Benavides.
Dakar 2026 Stage 13 Results: Cars - Ekstrom Takes Stage Win As Al-Attiyah Cruises To 6th Dakar Win

Ford's Mattias Ekstrom took the stage win in the cars category as he blitzed today's special stage in 46 minutes and 14 seconds to keep Dacia's Sebastien Loeb off the podium in the overall rankings.
Speaking of the 9-time WRC champion, Sebastien Loeb ended the stage just eight seconds behind his Swedish rival. Toyota's Henk Lategan took the final podium spot today, ending the stage 13 seconds behind Ekstrom.
Fourth place today was claimed by the Century Racing Factory team's Mathieu Serradori. The Frenchman ended the stage 33 seconds behind Ekstrom. Fifth place today was claimed by Serradori's teammate, Brian Baragwanath with the South African driver ending the stage 36 seconds behind Ekstrom.

At the end of Dakar 2026, it was a familiar name at the top of the podium as Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah cruised to his sixth overall win at the world's toughest rally-raid with a time of 48 hours, 56 minutes and 53 seconds. Nasser's win today was also the first-ever overall win at the Dakar for his navigator Fabian Lurquin and for Romanian manufacturer Dacia.
Ford's Nani Roma took second place at Dakar 2026. The Spanish rider ended the Dakar nine minutes and 42 seconds behind Al-Attiyah after 13 rounds of racing.
Today's stage winner, Ford's Mattias Ekstrom, took the final podium spot available at Dakar 2026. The Swedish driver finished the Dakar Rally 14 minutes and 33 seconds behind Al-Attiyah.
Dacia's Sebastien Loeb took fourth place at Dakar 2026. The French WRC legend ended the Dakar 15 minutes and 10 seconds off the pace set by Al-Attiyah. This was the first time that Loeb had not finished on the podium when he had completed the Dakar.
Ford's Carlos Sainz claimed fifth place at Dakar 2026. The four-time Dakar winner, nicknamed "El Matador", ended Dakar 2026 28 minutes and 30 seconds behind the Dacia of Nasser Al-Attiyah.
Dakar 2026, once again, showed why it is the world's toughest rally raid. After over 8,000km of riding and driving, the Dakar still threw up a surprise on the last day of racing in the bikes category, while Nasser Al-Attiyah once again showed that taking care of your vehicle and being patient and consistent is the formula to win the Dakar on four wheels.
