Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition Launched At Rs 8.75 Lakh
French carmaker Citroen has launched the Basalt X Comfort Edition in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 8.75 lakh, as part of the brand's 108-year anniversary celebrations. The Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition sits Rs 20,000 above the base 'You' variant of the coupe-SUV, which is priced at Rs 8.55 lakh.
The Basalt is the second Citroen model to receive the Comfort Edition treatment, after it was first introduced on the Aircross. Citroen says the edition brings "premium interior enhancements, convenience features and curated personalisation options" to the Basalt X.

Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition: What's new?
The Comfort Edition is built around 'Comfort AXS' packs, offered on the base 'You' and mid-spec 'Plus' trims of the Basalt X. Depending on the variant, the Basalt X Comfort Edition adds beige leatherette seat upholstery, a 10.25-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment system and a wireless phone charger.
Owners of the Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition also get a JBL audio system, dual dashcams with predictive safety alerts and a rear-view camera as part of the Comfort AXS pack, depending on the variant chosen.
Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition: Engine & Gearbox Options
The base 'You' trim of the Basalt X is powered solely by an 82hp, 115Nm, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The mid-level 'Plus' trim adds a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 110hp and 190Nm of torque.
| Trim | Engine | Power | Torque | Gearbox |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| You | 1.2-litre NA petrol | 82hp | 115Nm | 5-speed MT |
| Plus | 1.2-litre turbo-petrol | 110hp | 190Nm (205Nm with AT) | 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT |
With the 6-speed automatic gearbox, the turbo-petrol engine's torque output rises to 205Nm, up from 190Nm with the manual. The Basalt X competes in the mid-size SUV space against the Tata Curvv, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris and Grand Vitara.
