Citroen Aircross X, Basalt X Get Wider Variant Line-up - eC3X Gets More Range

French carmaker Citroen has expanded the powertrain line-up on the Aircross X and Basalt X, bringing the 110hp turbo-petrol engine to the base trim of both SUVs and extending the 82hp naturally aspirated unit to the range-topping Max trim.

Citroen has also increased the claimed range of the eC3X electric hatchback and introduced a new step-up EMI scheme across all three models.

Citroen Aircross X, Basalt X Turbo-Petrol Now Cheaper

The 110hp 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine was previously offered only from the mid-spec Plus trim upward on both SUVs. It is now available on the base trim, which brings the turbo-petrol Aircross X's starting price down by Rs 1.50 lakh and the turbo-petrol Basalt X's by Rs 1.58 lakh.

The 82hp naturally aspirated version of the same engine has been extended to the top Max trim, giving buyers the fully loaded trim with a more affordable engine option. This naturally aspirated engine is also offered in CNG guise across trims, though Citroen has not revealed specifications or prices for the CNG variants.

Citroen eC3X Range Increased To 330km

The eC3X's claimed range (MIDC) has gone up to 330km from 325km, which Citroen attributes to more efficient energy use, likely through a software update. The electric hatchback is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh for the Live variant, Rs 12.35 lakh for Live (O), and Rs 13.26 lakh for the top Shine variant, all ex-showroom.

The eC3X is also offered under Citroen's BaaS (Battery as a Service) programme, where the ex-showroom price starts at Rs 6.99 lakh with a running cost of Rs 2.26 per km driven.

Citroen is offering a step-up finance scheme with loan tenures of up to seven years on all three models, lowering EMI outflow in the initial years compared with a regular loan structure. Considering a 20 percent down payment, EMIs under this scheme start from Rs 9,999 for the Basalt X range and Rs 10,555 for the Aircross X range in the first year.

Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director, Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said, "At Citroën, we continuously listen to our customers and evolve our products to better match their lifestyles and mobility needs.
