BYD eMAX 7 Gets New Comfort Variant In India With Bigger Battery And 485km Range

BYD India has expanded its electric MPV lineup in India with the introduction of a new Comfort variant of the BYD eMAX 7. The latest update comes alongside the brand's recent price revision across select EV models in the country.

BYD Introduces new comfort Trim in eMax 7 MPV

The Chinese electric carmaker has equipped the new eMAX 7 Comfort trim with a larger 71.8kWh battery pack, borrowed from the higher-spec variant. This battery now offers a claimed MIDC-certified driving range of up to 485km on a single charge, making it a more practical option for long-distance family travel.

Powering the MPV is an electric motor producing 161bhp and 310Nm of torque. The battery pack also supports DC fast charging of up to 115kW, allowing quicker charging times for added convenience. The eMax7 is both comfortable and powerful enough for long distances.

Pricing and Availability

To appeal to different customer needs, BYD is offering the new eMAX 7 Comfort in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations. The six-seat variant is priced at Rs 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the seven-seat version is priced at Rs 28.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Features and Technology

In terms of features, the eMAX 7 comes equipped with synthetic leather upholstery, a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other highlights include power-adjustable and foldable ORVMs, LED lighting, keyless entry, automatic climate control, and dynamic rear turn indicators.

Safety and hardware

On the safety front, BYD offers six airbags as standard, TPMS, ABS, ESC, traction control, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. The MPV rides on a McPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup, along with ventilated front disc brakes and alloy wheels.

With front-wheel drive and 170mm ground clearance, the eMAX 7 is designed to handle varied Indian road conditions with ease. Also BYD has announced price revisions for its select models in india from 50,000 to 1 lakh rupees.
