BMW M440i Convertible Debuts in India – Fast, Premium & Open-Top Thrill

BMW has launched the new BMW M440i Convertible in India, expanding its performance-oriented lineup with a stylish open-top offering. This premium convertible is priced at ₹1.09 crore (ex-showroom) and competes with models like the Mercedes-Benz CLA Cabriolet in the luxury segment.

BMW M440i Convertible Launched in India

The German automaker continues to strengthen its portfolio in India with the introduction of this performance-focused 4 Series model. The M440i Convertible follows BMW's latest design language, featuring sleek LED headlamps with DRLs, a bold kidney grille, and aggressive front air intakes that enhance its sporty appeal.

From the side, the car maintains a low-slung and aerodynamic silhouette, complemented by 19-inch alloy wheels and signature M badging. A wind deflector for the front seats further improves comfort during open-top driving. At the rear, it features stylish LED tail lamps, an integrated boot spoiler, and a sporty diffuser, reinforcing its dynamic character.

Powerful Inline-Six Engine

Under the hood, the M440i Convertible is powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 374 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

This setup allows the convertible to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h, making it one of the most performance-oriented convertibles in its class.

Premium Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, the M440i Convertible offers a premium and tech-loaded experience. It features a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system paired with a fully digital instrument cluster and a head-up display.

Other highlights include electrically adjustable sports seats with memory function, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, automatic climate control, and a 360-degree camera. The car also comes equipped with advanced safety features such as multiple airbags and lane assist.

Open-Top Driving Experience

The fabric soft-top roof can be opened or closed in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h, adding to the convenience of open-air driving. Buyers can choose from a range of colour options including Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Portimao Blue, Arctic Race Blue, Brooklyn Grey, Cape York Green, and Fire Red.
