The US gets a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol making 429hp and 599Nm. A performance-focused SQ9 variant will be offered in the US with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 591hp and 800Nm, which allows for a 0-100km/h time of 4 seconds.

Both diesel states of tune get a mild-hybrid system adding 24hp for stronger low-speed response, along with an electrically powered compressor that builds 3.6 bar of boost in 1.2 seconds. Adaptive air suspension is standard and adjustable by up to 90mm, working alongside all-wheel steering for a tighter turning circle at low speeds. Braking duties are handled by 400mm front and 350mm rear composite discs.
