MG Hector - India’s Smartest SUV Just Got A Whole Lot Better
When MG Motor entered India in 2019, it did so with the all-new Hector. However, the MG Hector was more than just another new SUV, it was India's first Internet Car and it changed how buyers viewed technology and connectivity in the mid-size SUV space.
Over the years, MG updated the Hector, first with the arrival of the Hector Plus in 2020 and then in 2023, when the Hector lineup was given a facelift. This mid-cycle update was more than just a skin-deep makeover as it brought Level-2 ADAS to the hector along with even more tech inside.

Now, JSW MG Motor India has upped its game once again with the launch of the second-generation Hector. Launched on December 15, the All-New Hector arrives at a time when prices in the compact and B-SUV segments have moved steadily upward.
However, with a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the All-New MG Hector offers buyers the opportunity to move into a larger, more capable mid-size SUV for money that typically buys a smaller-sized vehicle with compromises on space, comfort and tech.

The design updates to the all-new MG Hector are evolutionary rather than radical. The SUV named after the legendary Trojan Prince retains its familiar proportions, which have always favoured big road presence and a planted stance.
The new Aura Hex grille adds a sharper identity at the front of the all-new Hector, while the redesigned Aura Sculpt bumpers subtly increase visual width. The new Aura Bolt alloy wheels complete the exterior visual update, and the introduction of Celadon Blue and Pearl White gives Hector buyers fresh colour options.

Inside the cabin of the Hector, the focus remains firmly on space and comfort. The all-new MG Hector continues to offer one of the roomiest cabins in its segment, with generous legroom and a seating layout that works well for families. MG has introduced two new interior themes to lift the cabin ambience. The 5-seater gets a Dual Tone Ice Grey finish, while the 6- and 7-seater variants adopt a Dual Tone Urban Tan theme that adds warmth and a more premium feel to the interior.
Technology continues to be a defining strength of the MG Hector's cabin. The large 14-inch (35.56cm) portrait-style touchscreen remains the focal point of the dashboard and now benefits from Smart Boost technology, improving system speed and responsiveness. A notable addition is the new i-SWIPE touch gesture control, allowing multi-finger inputs for functions such as climate control, music and navigation, making interactions feel more intuitive and familiar to smartphone users.
Hector's connected features remain extensive. The all-new Hector offers a digital Bluetooth key with key-sharing functionality, predictive maintenance alerts, remote AC operation and a fully digital 17.78 cm Multi Information Display. MG's i-SMART connected system continues to offer over 70 features, reinforcing Hector's position as one of the most feature-packed connected SUVs in its class.
Safety and convenience features are even more stacked than ever on the All-New Hector. The second-gen SUV gets a 360-degree HD camera that includes a wheel view, helping drivers manage tight parking spaces more confidently. Standard safety equipment includes ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist and brake assist, ensuring a well-rounded safety package for everyday use. Level 2 ADAS, offered on higher trim levels, ensures that the Hector keeps an active electronic eye out on the road around you to ensure that those inside are kept safe at all times.
Powering the Hector is the familiar 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 143 PS and 250 Nm, which is paired with either a manual gearbox or a CVT. The all-new Hector is very refined and easy to drive, particularly in urban conditions. While there is enough performance to deal with everyday driving, the way the Hector delivers this is totally in line with what you expect from a comfortable family C-SUV.
MG has also strengthened the ownership proposition for the all-new Hector. Buyers can opt for 100 per cent on-road price funding with tenures of up to seven years, along with full funding support for accessories. The MG SHIELD ownership programme adds further reassurance, bundling a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance and three free periodic services as standard.
With over 1.5 lakh customers already choosing the Hector since its debut, the All-New MG Hector doesn't attempt to reinvent a successful formula. Instead, it refines what has worked from the start - space, technology and value - making a strong case for buyers who want to step into a larger, better-equipped C-SUV at the price of rivals from a segment lower.
