2027 Hyundai Tucson Revealed - Big Boy SUV Goes Boxy
South Korean carmaker Hyundai has revealed the next-generation Tucson, built around a new Art of Steel design language that gives the SUV a boxier, more upright stance than before. The Hyundai Tucson also grows across every dimension and gets a completely redesigned cabin dominated by a large touchscreen.
Hyundai is yet to reveal technical details for the new Tucson, including engine and transmission options. The outgoing model sold in India came with a 156hp 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol paired with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic in FWD form, and a 186hp 2.0-litre turbo-diesel paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic in the top-spec AWD variant, before it was discontinued in the Indian market in late 2025.

Internationally, the Tucson is also offered in plug-in hybrid and strong hybrid forms, and the new-generation model could carry similar powertrain options into other markets. The 2027 Hyundai Tucson goes on sale in South Korea later this year, with other global markets following through 2027.
The 2027 Tucson measures 4,700mm in length, 1,905mm in width and 1,685mm in height, riding on a 2,785mm wheelbase. That makes it 60mm longer, 40mm wider and 20mm taller than the outgoing model, with the wheelbase stretched by 30mm.

2027 Hyundai Tucson Revealed: Exterior Design
The Art of Steel design language brings voluminous fenders and a three-dimensional silhouette to the 2027 Hyundai Tucson, along with chunky body cladding, two-tone alloy wheels and flared wheel arches. Faux roof rails, conventional pull-type door handles and a silver trim strip running from the front to the rearmost pillar round off the side profile.

Up front, a squared-off fascia houses a full-width LED element flanked by vertical LED strips, with a pair of boxy headlamps sitting below. A horizontally aligned air intake and a two-tone bumper complete the nose, though the bumper design differs on the more rugged XRT trim.
At the rear, bold TUCSON lettering, a chunky bumper and a roof spoiler are joined by a slim LED light bar and matching vertical strips. Illuminated H-shaped elements integrate with the headlamps and taillamps at both ends, giving the SUV a distinctive light signature. The XRT variant gets its own rims, wheel-arch design, skid plate and rear bumper, along with XRT badging.

Practicality gets a boost too. Hyundai has increased the rear door opening angle by 10 degrees to 83 degrees for easier access to the second row, and the added height has freed up 29mm of extra rear-seat headroom over the outgoing Tucson. Five new exterior colours will be offered: Serenity White Pearl, Driftwood Grey Matte, Driftwood Grey Metallic, Red Rock Orange Matte and Goyo Copper Pearl.
2027 Hyundai Tucson Revealed: Interior, Features And Technology

Inside, the Tucson gets a two-tone D-cut steering wheel with Hyundai's pixel logo, and a transmission stalk similar in design to those found in some Mercedes-Benz models. A slim, horizontally laid-out digital instrument panel sits tucked into the top of a tiered dashboard, while the centre pedestal is noticeably raised and finished in soft-touch materials and faux wood trim. Depending on trim, buyers can choose between two dual-tone cabin colour schemes or a single mono-tone shade, and the cabin also gets ambient lighting and perforated upholstery.
A large tablet-style touchscreen dominates the dashboard and is expected to run Hyundai's new Pleos infotainment system, with physical switchgear retained below it for frequently used functions. Other features expected on the showroom-ready car include powered front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, dual wireless charging pads, multiple drive modes, a panoramic sunroof, a premium audio system, 360-degree cameras, connected-car tech, multiple airbags and an ADAS suite.
The Pleos system is tipped to underpin Hyundai's next-generation infotainment architecture, and its influence could eventually extend to India-bound models, including a future generation of the Hyundai Creta. Hyundai has not confirmed which India-spec models will get Pleos.
