Japanese carmaker Toyota has launched the ninth-generation Hilux pickup truck in India at a starting price of Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new 2026 Toyota Hilux gets a redesigned exterior and cabin, along with added technology, while retaining its IMV body-on-frame platform and Double Cab body style.
Bookings for the new 2026 Toyota Hilux Hilux are open, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second week of August. The 2026 Toyota Hilux is offered in three variants, with prices ranging from Rs 31.99 lakh to Rs 36.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

|---|---|
| GX 4x2 AT | Rs 31.99 lakh |
| GX 4x4 AT | Rs 33.69 lakh |
| VX 4x4 AT | Rs 36.69 lakh |
Compared to the outgoing Hilux, which was priced between Rs 28.52 lakh and Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom), the entry price has risen by Rs 3.47 lakh, while the range-topping variant costs Rs 69,000 more. The new Hilux continues to rival the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross in the lifestyle pickup segment.

2026 Toyota Hilux Launched: Design & Features
Design changes to the 2026 Toyota Hilux include a more upright front end, with slim LED headlamps, a honeycomb-pattern grille and 'TOYOTA' lettering replacing the conventional badge. The front bumper features two black rectangular air intakes, a silver skid plate and LED fog lamps.
On the sides, the 2026 Toyota Hilux gets black wheel arch cladding, roll bars, new alloy wheels and a footboard for easier entry and exit. It also gets electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs and a shark-fin antenna.

At the rear, the ninth-gen Hilux features vertically stacked LED tail-lamps with C-shaped DRL signatures sit above 'TOYOTA' lettering on the tailgate, while the redesigned bumper includes an integrated step for easier access to the cargo bed. The Hilux is offered in six colours: Sulphur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red and Super White.
Inside, the 2026 Toyota Hilux gets an all-new dashboard with a 7-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a three-spoke steering wheel with the Toyota lettermark. Feature highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, connected car technology, powered and ventilated front seats and a PM 2.5 air filter.

Other equipment includes a rear armrest with cupholders, an 8-speaker audio system, a 360-degree camera and three drive modes: Eco, Normal and Sport. The cabin combines soft-touch leatherette surfaces with hard plastics, and retains physical controls for key functions.
Safety equipment includes seven airbags, vehicle stability control, ABS with brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. The India-spec Hilux misses out on ADAS.

2026 Toyota Hilux Launched: Drivetrain
Power for the 2026 Toyota Hilux comes from the familiar 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 204hp and 500Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox (the manual transmission option has been discontinued), and Toyota has added a new rear-wheel-drive 4x2 variant alongside the existing four-wheel-drive 4x4 versions.
Unlike the Fortuner, the Hilux does not get Toyota's 48V 'Neo Drive' mild-hybrid system. The 4x4 variants get a low-range transfer case, an electronic differential lock, multiple terrain modes, downhill assist control, traction control and an auto limited-slip differential for off-road use.
