2026 Renault Duster India-Spec: Key Differences From The Global Model
The Renault Duster SUV is set to return to the Indian market in January 2026. The compact SUV will be launched on January 26, 2026, coinciding with India's Republic Day. The third-generation Duster is already on sale globally, and the upcoming Indian model will feature several India-specific updates. Although both versions are built on the same platform, these changes will make the Indian variant distinct from the global model.
India Spec Renault Duster vs Global Spec Differences
Exterior Design
The biggest difference could be in the exterior design, with several new elements such as the LED headlights, tail-lights, DRLs, bumpers, and door handles. The global model features Y-shaped LED DRLs, a sharp and bold front grille design, squared wheel arches, and updated cladding.

The Indian variant is expected to feature eyebrow-style LED DRLs positioned above the headlamps, making the front design look very different from the global version. The tail-lights may be connected, a feature that is now very popular among Indian buyers, while the overseas model misses out on this design element.
However, lower variants of the Duster are expected to come with standard Y-shaped tail-lamps. The bumpers and alloy wheels will also differ from the global model and will be redesigned to suit Indian market preferences. All these details are based on speculations drawn from recent spy shots of the upcoming Duster.

Interiors
The global Duster offers a premium interior layout with soft-touch materials, leather seats, and a floating touchscreen with multiple connectivity features. Many of these features are expected to be carried over to the Indian version, as Indian buyers prefer feature-rich and tech-loaded cabins.
Technology and Safety
The Indian-spec Duster is expected to feature a triple-screen setup, including the infotainment and digital instrument cluster, along with a 360-degree camera system. Other expected features include wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone automatic climate control, six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera, and parking sensors.

Powertrains
Globally, Renault offers two powertrain options for the Duster: a 1.2-litre Turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a 1.6-litre Turbo-petrol engine with a strong hybrid system. However, considering Renault's target audience in India, the brand is likely to introduce only the mild-hybrid powertrain initially, while the strong hybrid could be introduced at a later stage.
Pricing
With no diesel engine expected, the Duster could be priced from ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
