2026 Renault Duster India Launch Tomorrow – Big Expectations From The SUV
Renault is preparing to launch the all-new Duster SUV in India. The upcoming compact SUV will feature a futuristic design while retaining the iconic silhouette and signature styling elements of the original Duster. The highly anticipated model is set to launch on March 17, 2026, and here are five key expectations from the upcoming SUV.
2026 Renault Duster Launch Expectations
The compact SUV segment in India was largely popularised by the Duster, which significantly reshaped the market at the time. However, with rivals like the Hyundai Creta currently dominating the segment, the iconic Duster is set to return with an all-new design, updated engines, and modern technology.

Made on a global platform
The new Duster is built on the CMF-B global platform, which supports multiple powertrains and is capable of a 4-wheel-drive system along with improved safety standards. While Renault has not yet confirmed whether the 4WD drivetrain will be offered in India, the company has hinted that it could be introduced in the future if there is enough market demand.
The platform supports both petrol and hybrid powertrains and is designed to deliver better stability at high speeds, improved handling, and reduced body roll. It is also engineered to meet global safety standards.

Rugged Exterior Design
The 2026 Duster features a rugged and muscular design with several modern styling elements. It gets slim LED DRLs, a bold front grille featuring the Duster lettering, a rugged bumper with silver skid plate-style cladding, and pixel-style fog lamps that enhance its tough SUV appeal.
The overall silhouette still resembles the original Duster, but with several modern updates, including newly designed alloy wheels, large wheel arches, roof rails, connected LED tail lamps, and a sporty rear spoiler.

Updated Interiors
The cabin of the new Duster features a completely redesigned dashboard layout. It gets a driver-focused twin-digital screen setup that integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment system, which is expected to run on a Google-powered interface.
The SUV will also get leatherette seats with contrast stitching and premium materials to enhance the overall cabin experience. Additional features are expected to include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and a large 518-litre boot space.

World-Class Safety
In terms of safety, the new Duster will come equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and all-wheel disc brakes. The SUV is also expected to feature Level 2 ADAS with several advanced driver assistance functions. Renault claims that the new CMF-B platform is capable of a 5-star crash safety rating.
Powertrains And Transmission
The new Renault Duster is expected to be offered with three different powertrain options. The first will be a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The second option could be a 1.3-litre turbo petrol mild-hybrid engine producing around 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
Finally, the SUV could also offer the segment's first 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain paired with a 1.4 kWh battery pack. This setup is expected to produce around 160 PS of power and use an e-shifter transmission. Renault claims the hybrid version could deliver a driving range of up to 1,000 km on a full tank.

Pricing Expectations
The new Renault Duster is expected to be priced competitively in the Indian market, with the base variants likely starting at around ₹10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The strong hybrid version could be priced between ₹19 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Once launched, the new Duster will compete with several popular compact SUVs, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the MG Astor.
