2026 Lexus NX Facelift Revealed With More EV Range & Fewer Physical Buttons

Lexus has revealed a mid-lifecycle update for the second-generation NX SUV, tweaking its design, powertrain and features. The 2026 Lexus NX facelift brings a redesigned grille, new headlamps and a reworked cabin, though the carmaker is yet to announce an India launch timeline.

The update covers the exterior, cabin and drivetrain, with Lexus increasing electric-only range on the plug-in hybrid version and switching several interior controls to touch-sensitive panels. India currently gets the pre-facelift NX 350h, and Lexus has not confirmed if or when the updated SUV will arrive here.

2026 Lexus NX Facelift: Exterior Design

The 2026 Lexus NX facelift retains its overall silhouette but picks up a new frameless spindle-shaped grille and LED headlamps that stretch down into the bumper. Each headlamp now carries two DRL strips, up from one on the outgoing model.

At the back, the SUV gains illuminated 'LEXUS' lettering and redesigned LED tail-lamps joined by a light bar. Wheel sizes range from 18 to 20 inches depending on the trim and region, and Lexus has added two new paint options, Sonic Platinum and Sonic Tellus.

Inside, Lexus says the design borrows cues from the new ES sedan and TZ SUV, and the layout looks noticeably cleaner than before. Several physical buttons have been swapped for touch-sensitive controls that light up and respond with feedback, while the old lever-style drive mode selector has been replaced by a toggle switch. The steering wheel also switches to 'LEXUS' script in place of the brand's L logo.

Four trims are offered: Business, Executive, Luxury and F Sport, though availability varies by region. Every version gets powered and heated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch touchscreen running the new LexusConnect system, which is four times faster and carries 256GB of storage.

Stepping up to Executive adds front-seat memory, electric lumbar support, ventilated seats, a gesture-controlled tailgate, a 360-degree camera system, wireless charging and multicolour ambient lighting. The Luxury trim brings 20-inch wheels, leather upholstery, heated rear seats and a head-up display, while the F Sport gains piano-black exterior trim, twin-spoke 20-inch wheels and unique colour options inside and out.

Buyers can also add 20-inch wheels to the Executive trim, and Luxury and F Sport models can be optioned with a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system and a digital rearview mirror. Every NX comes with advanced driver assistance systems as standard.

2026 Lexus NX Facelift: Powertrain

The NX facelift continues with 450h+ plug-in hybrid and 350h strong hybrid options. The 450h+'s 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid setup now makes a combined 307hp, up 15hp over the outgoing car, paired with a larger 23kWh lithium-ion battery in place of the previous 18kWh unit.

Offered only with all-wheel drive, the NX 450h+ sprints from 0-100kph in a claimed 6.1 seconds. DC fast-charging has been added for the first time, with Lexus claiming a 10-80 percent top-up in 30 minutes, and a new 1,500W AC outlet lets the SUV double as a mobile power source. Electric-only range has grown from 72km to over 100km, as per Lexus.

The 350h's 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid setup produces a combined 199hp, and Lexus has trimmed the hybrid battery's weight from 32.7kg to 23.5kg. The FWD version hits 100kph in a claimed 7.7 seconds, while the AWD variant does it in 7.3 seconds.

In India, Lexus currently retails the pre-facelift NX 350h between Rs 67.59 lakh and Rs 74.50 lakh, ex-showroom. Should the updated SUV reach India, pricing is likely to be revised, and it will continue to rival the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60.
