2026 Kia Seltos Scores 5-Star Safety Rating In Bharat NCAP Crash Tests

The 2026 Kia Seltos has secured a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests. The safety rating applies to all the variant levels of the updated version of the Kia Seltos, which was launched in January.

Bharat NCAP tested the HTE(O) and GTX variant levels of the diesel automatic version of the Kia Seltos in February 2026. The Kia Seltos scored 31.70 points out of 32 in the adult occupant protection tests and 45 points out of 49 for child occupant protection.

The 2026 Kia Seltos scored 31.70 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection. The Seltos scored 15.70 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, while the side movable deformable barrier Test saw the SUV score a maximum 16 out of 16 points.

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Kia Seltos provided good protection for all critical parts of the front passenger. The Seltos also provided good protection for the driver's head, chest, pelvis, thighs, and right tibia. Protection for the driver's feet and left tibia was rated as adequate. All critical parts of the driver's body (head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis) also received good protection in both the side movable deformable barrier test and the side pole impact test.

2026 Kia Seltos Bharat NCAP - Child Occupant Protection - 45/49

The 2026 Kia Seltos scored 45 out of 49 points in child occupant protection. The Seltos received the maximum available points for both the dynamic score (24/24) and the child restraint system installation (12/12). In terms of Child Occupant Protection, The Seltos scored the maximum points for both the 18th-month-old (rearward-facing) and the 3-year-old child dummies in frontal (8/8) and side crash tests (4/4), respectively.

However, in the vehicle assessment test, the Kia Seltos received only 9 out of the 13 points on offer, which dropped its overall Child Occupant Protection score to 45 out of 49 points.

The 2026 Kia Seltos comes packed with a host of safety features as standard. The se standard safety features on the 2026 Seltos include six airbags, ABS, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic safety control (ESC), hill start assist, downhill brake control, rear view camera, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, and seat belt reminders.

Higher-spec versions of the 2026 Kia Seltos also feature a Level 2 ADAS suite with 21+ autonomous safety features, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, among others.
