2026 Jeep Meridian Launched With Sliding Second-Row Seats
American SUV specialist Jeep has launched the 2026 Meridian with a key update aimed at improving interior flexibility and third-row comfort in its premium seven-seat SUV. The highlight of the latest model-year update is a sliding second-row seat mechanism offered on select variants, addressing a notable usability gap in the existing Meridian setup.
Prices for the updated 2026 Jeep Meridian with sliding second-row seats start from ₹30.01 lakh (ex-showroom), while the broader Meridian range continues to begin from ₹23.33 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are open across Jeep dealerships in India.

The updated seating setup on the 2026 Jeep Meridian allows the second-row seats to slide longitudinally in a 40/60 split configuration. The system offers up to 140 mm of forward and rearward travel, giving owners greater control over how space is distributed between the second and third rows or the boot area.
In addition to sliding, the seats can tilt forward by up to 33 degrees to make ingress and egress into the third row easier, a practical improvement for family use. The seatbacks now offer a 23-degree torso angle and an additional 12-degrees of recline, aimed at enhancing comfort for both short runs and long journeys when the SUV is fully occupied.

The 2026 Jeep Meridian continues to be positioned as a premium three-row SUV, retaining its signature upright stance, seven-slot grille and LED lighting. The interior remains largely unchanged beyond the seat update, with a focus on comfort and connectivity. Equipment such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and premium upholstery continue to be offered, matching expectations for a seven-seat SUV in this segment.
In terms of technology, the updated 2026 Jeep Meridian carries over its dual-screen setup with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Uconnect-based system supports connected services, remote vehicle functions and real-time health monitoring, ensuring the tech suite remains competitive. Safety features are still as extensive as before , with more than 70 active and passive safety features standard across the range, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) on select variants.

Power for the 2026 Jeep Meridian continues to come from the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, producing around 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It is paired with either a torque-converter automatic or in some trims, the Selec-Terrain 4×4 system, offering capability on a variety of road surfaces while maintaining respectable fuel efficiency.
Commenting on the update, Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director - Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said: "The Meridian continues to evolve in line with our commitment to deliver a more meaningful ownership experience for our customers. The introduction of sliding second-row seats on the Limited & Overland variant is a direct response to customer feedback seeking greater third-row comfort, especially for families travelling together. This update complements the Meridian's premium positioning and reinforces our focus on delivering thoughtful, customer-inspired enhancements."
