2026 Honda City Facelift: Top Things To Know - What's New and What's Changed
Honda Cars India has launched the 2026 City facelift in India, marking the second mid-lifecycle update for the fifth-generation model that debuted in 2020. Prices start at Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base SV petrol manual, going up to Rs 21 lakh for the top-spec ZX+ strong hybrid variant.
The updated City is available in four trims - SV, V, ZX, and ZX+ - with the e:HEV strong hybrid limited exclusively to the ZX+ variant. The facelift focuses on design and feature upgrades, leaving the mechanical package untouched.

What's New and What's Changed
The front end is completely redone. Sleeker headlamps carry a two-part, brow-like LED DRL signature connected by a light bar above a new honeycomb-patterned grille, with Honda claiming longer and wider beam throw than before. A body-coloured panel replaces the outgoing chrome trim atop the grille, while the bumper gains a wider central air intake and triangular intakes at the edges.
The rear gets a two-tone bumper with edge-positioned reflectors and a body-coloured faux diffuser. New dual-tone 16-inch AeroBlade alloy wheels feature on the sides. Honda also adds a new Crystal Black Pearl exterior colour alongside five carryover shades.
Inside, the dashboard gains a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and ambient lighting are new additions. The 8-speaker sound system is also new to the equipment list.
What Stays the Same
The side profile is largely unchanged, retaining the same sloping roofline, doors, and ORVM design. The cabin layout, dual-tone theme, AC vents, centre console, and part-digital instrument cluster carry over. Existing features - wireless charger, sunroof, electric parking brake, rear windscreen sunblind, and connected car tech - continue as before.
Safety equipment remains unchanged, with six airbags standard across all variants. The Level 2 ADAS suite, LaneWatch camera, rain-sensing wipers, and hill-start assist all carry over. Under the hood, the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 121hp and 145Nm soldiers on, paired to a 6-speed manual or 7-step CVT. The strong hybrid's 126hp/253Nm e-CVT setup is also untouched, with Honda claiming 27.26kmpl and adding a new 5-year warranty on all hybrid components.
The 2026 Honda City price list is as follows:
| Variant | SV | V | ZX | ZX+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5 Petrol MT | Rs 12.00 lakh | Rs 13.30 lakh | Rs 15.26 lakh | Rs 16.15 lakh |
| 1.5 Petrol CVT | - | Rs 14.30 lakh | Rs 16.26 lakh | Rs 17.15 lakh |
| 1.5 Strong Hybrid e:HEV | - | - | - | Rs 21.00 lakh |
All prices are ex-showroom. The 2026 City rivals the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus in the midsize sedan segment.
