2026 BMW 7 Series Facelift Unveiled: Panoramic iDrive, Neue Klasse Tech & A Fresh Look Inside Out
German luxury carmaker BMW has pulled the covers off the facelifted 7 Series, and it's a comprehensive mid-cycle refresh that brings the flagship sedan meaningfully up to date. The facelifted 2026 BMW 7 Series continues to be offered across petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric (i7) guises.
The update to the BMW 7 Series tweaks the exterior, completely revamps the interior, and even borrows technology from BMW's Neue Klasse models, particularly the new Panoramic iDrive display. Production of the updated 7 Series is set to begin in July, and it is expected to arrive in India by the end of 2026 or in early 2027.

2026 BMW 7 Series Facelift: What's New On The Outside?
The 2026 BMW 7 Series facelift keeps the familiar 7 Series silhouette intact but makes focused changes at both ends. The split headlamp arrangement is retained, now with a revised lighting signature, slim DRLs sitting at the top and the main headlamp units positioned vertically. The front bumper has been reworked, bonnet lines are sharper, and the illuminated kidney grille now sports horizontal slats instead of vertical ones.

Along the flanks, the design is noticeably cleaner, with fewer lines and smoother surface treatments. At the rear, the tail-lamps are slimmer with a new signature and a blacked-out lower section. BMW has also added new exterior colour options and alloy wheel choices with sizes going up to 22 inches, a first for the 7 Series.
2026 BMW 7 Series Facelift: Big Interior Overhaul
The cabin is where the changes feel most significant in the 2026 BMW 7 Series. BMW has redesigned the dashboard and introduced the Panoramic iDrive, a full-width display that sits at the base of the windscreen. This works alongside a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a 14.6-inch front passenger display, which is now standard.

The new iDrive infotainment system runs BMW Operating System X, supports over-the-air updates, and gets AI-enhanced voice control. Physical buttons on the centre console have been reduced considerably, with most controls now on the steering wheel or within the touchscreen. The 7 Series also gets a new vertical twin-spoke steering wheel and a crystal gear selector lever.
Materials like leather, wood, metal, and crystal are used throughout the interior of the 2026 BMW 7 Series facelift. The Executive Lounge rear package remains an option with the 31.3-inch Theatre Screen at the rear featuring 8K streaming support, video calling, and gaming capability. The Theatre Screen can be paired with an optional Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos.

A rear door-mounted touch command module allows passengers to control the screen's angle and positioning. Other standard features include multifunction seats, four-zone climate control, a panoramic roof, revised ambient lighting, and wireless charging.
2026 BMW 7 Series Facelift: Powertrain Options
