ZELIO E Mobility To Expand Electric Three-Wheeler Dealership Network To 100 By May 2025
In a significant move to bolster India's electric mobility sector, ZELIO E Mobility Ltd. is setting the pace with its ambitious plans to expand its electric three-wheeler offerings across the nation. The company is on track to escalate its dealership count from 28 to 100 by May 2025. This expansion signifies ZELIO's robust commitment to advancing eco-friendly transportation options and is expected to play a pivotal role in making sustainable mobility solutions more widely accessible to the Indian populace, particularly in urban and semi-urban locales.
Currently, ZELIO has established a strong dealership presence in seven key Indian states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The plan to deepen its market penetration within these regions, coupled with the strategy to venture into new territories such as Uttarakhand, Delhi, Assam, and West Bengal, demonstrates the company's dedication to enhancing the availability of electric vehicles (EVs) across the country. This strategic move is not only poised to facilitate better access to green transportation but also expected to generate between 400-500 new job opportunities, thereby aiding in the economic upliftment of these areas and solidifying ZELIO's status as a major player in the EV industry.
Expanding the Electric Three-Wheeler Market
With an eye on dominating the electric three-wheeler sector, ZELIO's expansion efforts are primarily centered around its flagship models, the Tanga Butterfly and Tanga SS. These models, which were first introduced in December 2024 and showcased at the EV India Expo 2024 in New Delhi, have been lauded for their superior design and performance. Engineered for durability, the Tanga Butterfly is constructed from Mild Steel (MS), while the Tanga SS boasts a Stainless Steel (SS) build.
Both models are equipped with a 1200W motor, capable of reaching speeds up to 30 km/h and offering a commendable range of 100 km on a single charge. Furthermore, to meet varying consumer needs, these e-rickshaws come with two battery options: a 48/60V 140Ah Lead-Acid battery or LFP options of 51V 105Ah or 153Ah, ensuring both efficiency and longevity. With an 8-hour charging time, these vehicles are designed to meet the daily requirements of their users seamlessly.
In addition to making sustainable transportation solutions more accessible, this dealership network expansion is projected to significantly increase ZELIO's three-wheeler sales. By the end of May 2025, the company anticipates an additional 400 units sold, which will enhance its market presence and enable it to meet the rising demand for electric last-mile connectivity solutions more effectively.
