WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Enhances Facilities Ahead Of IndyCar's Java House Grand Prix

The Java House Grand Prix of Monterey is set for a thrilling weekend of racing from July 25-27 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. This iconic track in Monterey, California, will showcase several facility upgrades aimed at enhancing the experience for both drivers and spectators.

Last August, Friends of Laguna Seca, a local non-profit group passionate about motorsports, took over the management of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. With a 55-year operational agreement, they are committed to restoring and revitalizing this historic venue. Their efforts have already resulted in significant improvements.

Visitors will notice a $1 million renovation of the Trilon timing and scoring tower. The Highway 68 entrance has been refreshed with an upgraded billboard and vibrant landscaping. Additionally, pit-side garages and hospitality suites have been renovated to provide a better experience for guests.

The raceway's iconic "Tire Bridge" has been rebranded with Tire Rack sponsorship. A new hospitality structure at Turn 3 has been introduced, along with paving improvements at the South Boundary Admissions checkpoint. The shuttle system has also been enhanced with new trams and golf cart routes.

On the track itself, asphalt run-offs have been added at Turns 2, 8, and Pit-in to improve drainage while maintaining the course's historic character. The on-track recovery and response teams have been revamped to work alongside the AMR INDYCAR Safety Team.

The Java House Grand Prix of Monterey marks the sixth consecutive year that the NTT INDYCAR SERIES returns to this track. Alongside America's premier open-wheel series, fans can enjoy races from INDY NXT by Firestone, Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West, and Radical Cup North America.
