2025 Radical Cup Calendar Unveiled With Events At WeatherTech Raceway And INDYCAR Series

The 2025 Radical Cup North America season will include three events alongside America's top open-wheel series. The INDYCAR Grand Prix of Monterey is confirmed as Round 4. "Based on the feedback we receive, Radical Cup is a fan favorite at INDYCAR events, especially with our ever-growing Sim Racing community, and we’re delighted to be returning to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the third year in a row," said Tom Drewer, Director of the Americas for Radical Motorsport.

Radical Motorsport's influence extends beyond just racing events. Jordan Missig, the reigning Pro 1500 class champion, has secured a full-time position in INDYNXT with Abel Motorsport. This highlights Radical Cup's role as an alternative path for emerging drivers aiming for higher levels in motorsport. The inclusion of three INDYCAR events in 2025 reinforces this notion.

2025 Radical Cup Events at WeatherTech Raceway

Several notable figures have ties to both Radical and INDYCAR paddocks. Toby Sowery from Dale Coyne Racing is a former Radical driver who won the 2022 Radical World Finals at Spring Mountain Motor Club and Resort. Sam Schmidt, previously an owner of Arrow McLaren, frequently attends Radical events to support his son Spencer, who finished fourth in the Pro 1500 class during his rookie year.

Katherine Legge, an Indy 500 regular, and Max Papis, an INDYCAR legend turned steward, are also associated with the brand. They serve as coaches in the Prodigy Racing League using Radical SR1 vehicles. Additionally, Graham Rahal manages a successful team in the Radical Cup through his Graham Rahal Performance/Radical Indianapolis outfit.

The series features Le Mans style multi-class prototype racing. Former Radical drivers like Bijoy Garg and George Kurtz have achieved success at Le Mans. The Platinum class showcases Porsche GT3 rivaling 425hp Radical SR10 machines that achieve lap times of 1min22s at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, surpassed only by INDYCAR and INDYNXT vehicles.

The Pro 1500 and Pro 1340 classes utilise Radical’s renowned SR3 platform, achieving lap times under 1min24s and 1min28s respectively. The 2025 season kicks off at Sebring International Raceway from February 27 to March 2. Round two occurs during the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park from May 1-4.

Season Schedule Highlights

The third round will be hosted by the INDYCAR XPEL Grand Prix Presented by AMR from June 19-22. The sole westward trip for the series is scheduled for July 25-27 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca during the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Monterey. Subsequent rounds will take place at Road Atlanta from September 11-13 and conclude at Lime Rock Park on October 17-18.

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is a renowned motorsport venue located in Monterey, California. Managed by Friends of Laguna Seca, it boasts a rich history of hosting premier racing events amidst scenic hills. Known for its challenging turns and elevation changes including the famous Corkscrew, it offers thrilling experiences for drivers and fans alike.
