VW, KONG, And VCA Charities Collaborate On Limited-Edition Dog Toy Inspired By ID. Buzz

A new limited-edition dog toy, inspired by the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, is now available for purchase through vw.com. This initiative is a collaboration between Volkswagen of America, KONG, and VCA Charities. For each toy sold, another will be donated to local shelters. Additionally, all net sales proceeds will support VCA Charities in aiding dogs across its nationwide network of animal shelters.

Volkswagen's Senior Vice President of Customer Experience & Brand Marketing, Rachael Zaluzec, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. Buzz embodies that spirit, and this collaboration carries forward KONG’s wonderful origin story that began with a man, his best friend, and a VW bus," she stated. The partnership between these organisations highlights a shared commitment to animal welfare. The origin story of KONG toys is intertwined with Volkswagen's history. Joe Markham's German Shepherd discovered a rubber axle stop from a Volkswagen Type 2 Bus in an auto repair shop in Denver. This discovery led to the creation of the popular KONG toy line. Today, nearly five decades later, Volkswagen has introduced the retro-inspired ID. Buzz as an homage to its iconic Type 2 Bus.

Kim Van Sync from VCA Charities emphasised their dedication to pet welfare: "VCA Charities is committed to the joy of pet ownership by helping pets find and remain in loving homes." She noted that support from Volkswagen and KONG enables them to provide enrichment for thousands of shelter dogs awaiting adoption.
