Volvo Car USA Reveals 2025 Model Year Pricing And New Electric SUV Offerings
Volvo Car USA has unveiled the pricing for its 2025 lineup, featuring two new electric SUVs: the Volvo EX90 and EX30. These models highlight the brand's commitment to electrification, offering options like mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or fully electric vehicles to suit diverse lifestyles.
The Volvo EX90, introduced in November 2022, marks a significant step in safety and sustainability. This seven-seat luxury SUV is built on an electric platform, providing up to 310 miles of emission-free driving range. It can charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. The EX90 combines Scandinavian design with advanced technology for a versatile family car.

All Volvo EX90 models destined for America will be manufactured at the Charleston plant in South Carolina. The starting price for these models is $79,995 (MSRP). This vehicle offers a blend of practicality and full electrification without compromising luxury.
The Volvo EX30 quickly gained popularity in Europe after its June 2023 reveal. U.S. buyers can now purchase the 422 hp EX30 Twin Motor Performance model, available in Plus or Ultra trims starting at $44,900 (MSRP). With all-wheel drive and rapid acceleration, this model boasts a range of 253 miles and charges from 10% to 80% in just over 25 minutes.
Every Volvo car maintains the brand's reputation for safety, quality, and Scandinavian design. The introduction of the EX40 aligns with other fully electric models like the EX30 and EX90. The XC40 name remains for mild-hybrid versions.
Updates to the XC90
The award-winning XC90 has received several updates for its 2025.5 version. These include a redesigned front end that aligns with Volvo's electric car designs and modernised T-shaped headlights. Inside, improved sound insulation and premium materials enhance comfort and space.
The updated XC90 features a new digital interface with a free-standing centre display. Technical improvements such as an enhanced chassis with new damper technology add comfort without sacrificing handling. Prices start at $58,450 (MSRP).
Hybrid Powertrain Technologies
Volvo Cars' hybrid powertrains focus on high performance with low emissions. The new XC90 plug-in hybrid T8 eAWD offers 33 miles of electric range per charge and increased power when needed. The 'Recharge' label has been removed from plug-in hybrids, now identified by the T8 suffix indicating power output.
This streamlined naming helps customers easily distinguish between fully electric and hybrid models globally. Additionally, the C40 Recharge will be renamed EC40 when it returns to the U.S. market in 2026.
