Volkswagen ID. Polo EV With 450 Km Range Arriving by 2026
German car brand Volkswagen is expected to launch the new ID. Polo by 2026. The electric hatchback car will feature four powertrain options and two battery packs. Volkswagen will sell this electric Polo as one of its most affordable cars in the European market.
Volkswagen ID. Polo EV Key Specs
The ID. Polo features Volkswagen's new design language, which will have a premium compact hatchback appearance. The front bumper is set to be revised for a more EV-specific look and could feature a closed-off grille. The alloy wheels could also be more premium and sportier. It is specifically designed for Urban and daily usability.
The ID. Polo will be based on the MEB+ platform and is a five-seater. This platform is designed to offer a solid build, improved handling, more interior space, and better efficiency. According to some reports, the car measures around 4.05 metres in length with a 2.60-metre wheelbase. Boot space is 435 litres, which is larger than the regular Polo.
Powertrain Expectations
Power outputs for the Volkswagen ID. Polo could range from 85 kW to 166 kW, with torque figures of up to 290 Nm. The car is expected to be offered with two battery options. The smaller battery could deliver a range of up to 300 km, while the larger battery may give a range of up to 450 km.
Tech & Safety Features
In terms of features, the ID. Polo is expected to get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is also likely to feature Level 2 ADAS safety features, including steering assist, adaptive cruise control, speed assist, and lane-change assist.
India Launch?
Reports claim that the electric Polo could be priced around 25,000 euros. The MEB+ platform will also be shared with other brands like Skoda, SEAT, and CUPRA. The VW Polo is one of the most popular cars, particularly in India, with a huge fan following. So, we expect the brand to bring this car to the indian market by early 2027.
