Volkswagen ID Every1 Concept Revealed: Previews Most Affordable EV Set To Arrive In 2027
After numerous anticipations and teasers, Volkswagen has finally taken the wraps off the ID Every1 concept, indicating a significant leap towards making electric vehicles (EVs) more accessible. The production VW ID Every1, which is expected to hit the European markets in 2027, is heralded as the brand's most economical electric offering.
The ID Every1 draws inspiration from the Volkswagen Up, positioning itself as its spiritual successor and marking a new, more affordable entry point into Volkswagen's esteemed ID range of electric vehicle and also showcases a design that is close to what the production version will look like.

The ID Every1's proportions echo the Up, featuring a facade that almost appears to smile, thanks to the blacked-out upper faux grille paired with prominent LED headlights. This look is accentuated by vertical LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a contrasting black trim on the bumper.
The vehicle's side profile is marked by subtly sculpted wheel arches, steering clear of aggressive character lines to embody a "timeless" and "classless" appeal, according to Volkswagen. The concept is adorned with 19-inch wheels and flush door handles, while the rear mimics the front's design, integrating a third brake light into the spoiler for a cohesive look.

In terms of size, the ID Every1 stands at 3880mm in length, making it marginally smaller than the 4050mm ID 2all concept. Volkswagen points out that up to the A-pillars, both the ID Every1 and ID 2all concept share similarities; however, the ID Every1 features a shorter wheelbase and accommodates a smaller battery. The C-pillar's design pays homage to the first-generation Golf, signifying Volkswagen's rich heritage blended with futuristic design elements.
Diving into the interior, the ID Every1 concept features a minimalist cabin that can accommodate four passengers. Dominating the dashboard is a large floating infotainment screen, complemented by a band of physical buttons for essential functions like climate control and volume adjustments. The vehicle also introduces a new two-spoke squared-out steering wheel, AC vents that reflect the headlamp design, and a versatile centre console that can be adjusted from front to back. Notably, there is a removable Bluetooth speaker for enhanced audio experiences, and the front passenger seat includes a multi-purpose panel for attaching various items, such as a tablet.

The ID Every1 takes a leap forward with its software-defined vehicle architecture, marking it as the first Volkswagen Group model to benefit from a completely new software setup developed in collaboration with American EV start-up Rivian. This platform is designed to be highly adaptable, allowing for a stripped-down version for the ID Every1, while enabling more advanced features for premium models. Additionally, the system supports over-the-air updates, offering customers the flexibility to add new features at an extra cost.
Under the hood, the ID Every1 concept will utilize a modified version of the new front-wheel-drive MEB Entry platform, boasting a newly engineered electric motor that delivers 95hp and a top speed of 130kph. Although specific details about the battery's capacity and chemistry remain undisclosed, Volkswagen asserts that the vehicle will offer a range of "at least" 250km. This places the ID Every1 as a promising contender in the urban electric car segment, with its launch set for 2027.

As Volkswagen continues to expand its electric vehicle portfolio, the upcoming ID 2 X crossover will be the next to join its Electric Urban Car Family, expected to debut at the Munich motor show in September. This strategic move underlines Volkswagen's dedication to electrification, further solidified by the announcement of the Volkswagen Tera entry-level SUV in Brazil and the impending Q2 2025 launch of the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line in India.
