Volkswagen ID. Buzz Wins 2025 North American Utility Vehicle Of The Year Award At Detroit Auto Show
The 2025 ID. Buzz has been awarded the title of North American Utility Vehicle of the Year at the Detroit Auto Show. Volkswagen's modern take on the classic Microbus, now fully electric, stood out among three finalists in its category. This recognition highlights its innovative design and advanced technology.

Buzz is a unique vehicle on the North American market, since it is the only electric people hauler on the market right now," stated Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America. "We are pleased that the experts on the jury appreciated its combination of style, space, and refinement, all packaged in a vehicle that has zero tailpipe emissions. And it does this while bringing a smile to the face of anyone who sees one on the street."

The ID. Buzz features retro-inspired styling with a prominent VW logo and vibrant two-tone paint options. Inside, it offers three interior colour themes: Moonlight, Dune, and Copper. Standard amenities include a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, 30-colour ambient lighting, IQ.DRIVE® Level 2-ready driver assistance technology, and power sliding doors and tailgate.
Volkswagen of America operates from Reston, Virginia, selling models like Atlas, Golf GTI, Jetta, Taos, and Tiguan through over 600 U.S. dealers. The Chattanooga facility produces vehicles such as Atlas Cross Sport and ID.4 for Volkswagen's global operations.
The rear-wheel-drive ID. Buzz Pro model delivers 282 horsepower with an EPA estimated range of 234 miles. The 4Motion® all-wheel-drive version offers 335 hp with an estimated range of 231 miles. The Pro S Plus trim enhances features with Easy Open for doors and tailgate, Harmon Kardon™ audio system, head-up display, and AreaView technology.
