Volkswagen Golf GTI & Tiguan R-Line Now Listed On Official Website: Launch & Other Key Details

Volkswagen is set to introduce two high-performance vehicles in India, the Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line. These models will arrive via the CBU route, targeting Indian car enthusiasts who crave speed and performance. Both cars are now listed on Volkswagen India's official website, hinting at an imminent launch.

Golf GTI

The Golf GTI, renowned worldwide, is making its debut in India. It features a 2.0L TSI Turbo Petrol engine (EA888 evo4) that delivers 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. This powertrain pairs with a 7-speed DSG transmission, enabling a top speed of 250 km/h and a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.9 seconds. The vehicle's sporty design includes LED Matrix headlights, an extensive grille, and 18-inch Richmond Black alloy wheels.

Inside the Golf GTI, expect modern amenities like a free-standing 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, heated front seats, wireless charging pad, ambient lighting, and automatic climate control. The car also boasts a fully independent suspension setup for enhanced driving dynamics.

Tiguan R-Line

The upcoming Tiguan R-Line represents a significant leap from its predecessor sold in India. Adopting VW's new curvier design language, this third-generation model offers improved aesthetics and features. Exterior highlights include IQ.Light Matrix LED headlights, a bold grille, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the Tiguan R-Line, you'll find shared components with the Golf R such as the 12.9-inch infotainment screen and a 10.2-inch Virtual Cockpit. Additional features include massaging seats, triple-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and a premium audio system.

Both vehicles will be priced at a premium due to import taxes and duties associated with the CBU route. While Volkswagen has not disclosed an exact launch date yet, these listings suggest that the release is approaching soon.

The Tiguan R-Line also shares the same robust 2.0L Turbo Petrol engine as the Golf GTI, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission for smooth performance. This combination ensures both vehicles offer thrilling driving experiences tailored to enthusiasts seeking power and luxury.

Volkswagen's decision to bring these models to India reflects their commitment to catering to niche markets that value high-performance vehicles with advanced features and design elements that stand out on Indian roads.
