The Volkswagen Group has reported a modest rise in its global vehicle deliveries for the first nine months of 2025, reflecting a balanced performance across major international markets. While the German automaker registered notable growth in Europe and South America, it faced headwinds in North America and Asia-Pacific due to market-specific challenges.
Europe
Europe remained the Group's strongest performing region, with total deliveries climbing 4.1% year-on-year to reach 2.9 million units. Both Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe contributed positively to the growth trajectory. The company's home market, Germany, continued to show resilience with deliveries up 4.6%, driven by robust demand for updated combustion models and steady uptake of plug-in hybrid variants.
Americas
In contrast, North America recorded a 7.8% decline in deliveries, totaling 708,800 units. The downturn was more pronounced in the United States, where sales dropped 9.3%, mainly due to tariff-related cost pressures and inventory constraints affecting key models. On the brighter side, South America stood out as Volkswagen Group's fastest-growing region, witnessing a 14.9% increase to 481,800 units. The growth was led by strong performances in Brazil and Argentina, where locally manufactured models such as the Virtus and Taos continued to drive volumes.
Asia-Pacific
The Asia-Pacific region saw deliveries fall 2.8% to 2.2 million vehicles, largely attributed to intensified competition in China, the company's largest single market. Volkswagen's battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales also saw a temporary decline as customers awaited new-generation models set to launch later this year.
